Baba Ali has already worked, collaborated, and toured with Gold Panda, Little Dragon, Wolf & Lamb, and Voices of Black. When he writes on his own project, the artist is used to deal with varied topics, including his personal frustrations with capitalism or the visceral emotions felt across America in response to police violence like in his single “Not Lovin’ You.” About this track, the artist explains:
