After the release of her debut single “Disaster”, Slovenlie returns with a new song “Ritual” that digs deeper into her life.
“Ritual” matches the standards set by “Disaster” with the symmetric matching of its emotional and enigmatic sound as well as being pacey, layered, and intertwined with her alluring vocals.
“Ritual” reveals the experience of living with a personality trait and shows how music can be a form of both expression and respite. Slovenlie, who writes, plays, and arranges all of her songs, shares her challenges since she was five years living with OCD and how it altered all aspects of her life in this unusual pop song.
Remembering how it all started, Slovenlie says:
[su_quote]My very first OCD ritual took place in bed every night, as a child. It was very simple; I repeated the chant ‘my family will get murdered tonight’ 3 times.[/su_quote]
