Over the last years, Copenhagen has become a reliable source of intriguing new sounds for us, and Alto Aria is another name we are happy to add to our growing list of artists from the Danish capital worth keeping an eye on. The project of singer and composer Aria Leth Schütze, Alto Aria moves in a space where voice, emotion, and experimentation meet. Their music often blends delicate classical touches with contemporary electronic textures, all carried by an intimate vocal presence. After releasing the album Ephemeral in 2025 and several singles through labels like Rhizome and Posh Isolation, Alto Aria continues to explore transformation and feeling through sound.
Now the artist returns with a new single and video, “Stars Align”, released on Rhizome. Sounding like a deep dive into the night, the song opens with sweeping strings and unfolds as a quiet reflection on fleeting emotions and those rare moments of euphoria that seem suspended in time. Conceived as a small continuation of the themes explored on Ephemeral, the track follows new emotional threads, like drawing shapes in the evening sky. Ethereal vocals move through expansive ambient and experimental production and create a dreamlike atmosphere where brightness and melancholy exist side by side. Lines such as “Both the smile and the tear belong to your face / The body knows it is ephemeral, more open than ever” capture that fragile balance between joy and sadness, and the awareness that feelings are never fixed in place. The track also arrives with a beautiful video directed by Aria and Nanna Koppel and starring Danish actors Marta Holm and Nanna Elisabeth Eide, which deepens the nocturnal and tender mood of the song.
