We’re always on the lookout for brand new artists, so we were pretty excited when we stumbled across goldgoldgold. The Copenhagen and Stockholm based duo of brothers August and William Hoffmann have been shaping their sound together for years, landing somewhere between emotion and movement. There’s this really nice balance in their music: it hits with club-ready energy, but there’s also a reflective, melancholic side that brings to mind artists like Jamie xx, Burial or Bicep. Alongside their own releases, they’ve also been building a wider creative community through Contemplating Others, a hybrid platform and studio they launched in 2024.
With their new single “Trust Me”, goldgoldgold perfectly present their vision. The track unfolds around raw, sampled pop vocals layered over moody textures, creating something that works just as well on a dancefloor as it does in your bedroom. That dichotomy gives it a subtle intensity, driven by what might be their most bass-heavy moment yet. “Trust Me” doesn’t try too hard to impress: it pulls you in gradually, and feels like a natural step forward in their idea of making “poetic electronic music.” They might stand apart from many of the Copenhagen artists we’ve been posting about lately, there’s a different texture and pacing here, but that same understated, melancholic touch still ties it all together.
