When we first introduced GiGi Girls with their dreamy song “Baci Al Sole,” it was clear they had a knack for nostalgic Italo-pop glow. Since then, the Cologne-based trio have dropped more bops like “Amore Per Sempre” and “Il Futuro,” continuing to shape the sound of their upcoming debut album, Greatest Hits, out later this month.
Now they’re back with “L’Anima,” a softer, more introspective step forward that “grew out of conversations about AI and what it does to the way we feel and create.” The track boasts the kind of soothing atmospheres we adore over here, with warm flute and saxophone textures taking center stage. It also features the always amazing John Moods, whose smooth and laidback touch lifts the whole piece. As the band shared, “We connected through the scene—we’ve been big fans of his music for a while. Through his concert series ‘Neu, kaputt,’ Janosch has organised concerts for him and also worked on some music videos with him.” Listen to “L’Anima” below.
