A little bit of background on Henri (aka Henrietta Tiefenthaler whoa that’s a mouthful); so she’s LA-based producer and her remix of Flight Facilities‘s “Two Bodies” from a year ago is a fun one. It’s also one of the tracks that those familiar with Henri may associate her with the most.

The first track off her EP is this gorgeous rework of early 90s cult classic “Fine Day” by Opus III and features the vocals of Icelandic actress and singer Anita Briem. What an interesting combo! The track has got this moody, trancelike feel that might just do the trick in helping listeners float their minds away to a better place, without the help of drugs or something.

The second track is “I See Ice Cream”, which definitely has a more joyous, hopeful tone than the slightly darker sounding “Fine Day”. A euphoric climax in “I See Ice Cream” will make listeners want to bask in the sunlight or bright colors. Also, the name of the track makes me giggle. The most recent track on her SoundCloud is a remix of her song “Lie To Me” from Latch Morrison. This remix definitely isn’t going to be for everyone; the BPM is a bit too slow even for a slow dance, but to me, it’s irresistible for the way that it blends BATTS‘ heart-wrenching vocals with the more angsty guitar of the remix. Remixes are a great way, sometimes, to hear a song from a different perspective, and Latch Morrison has turned the original “Lie To Me” with its cool synths and percussions into a moodier, slower, song. A little bit of background on FØRD: so his last single, “The Pier” hit #1 in triple j‘s Unearthed dance and electronic chart and also secured a spot in New Music Friday over on Spotify, and if you know anything about Spotify, those official playlists are all the buzz these days.

Anyways, FØRD‘s new single will send all the tingles down your spine. A collaboration with vocalist Rya Park, “Oblivion” has this easy swing to it that gives the song a super laid-back feel. Before long, Rya’s vocals drift in like a lost sojourner, and then she quickly transitions into a catchy chant that slowly builds up to the song’s wobblyyyy chorus drop. Now, I’m starting to get kind of sick of vocal chop-oriented choruses and drops, but FØRD only gives a slight hint to the sound of vocal chops before giving Rya‘s voice the attention it deserves.

However, his new remix of Justice‘s “We Are Your Friends” might be on to something outside of his usual box. While the explosive energy of singles past continues to dominate in this remix, that’s not a bad thing by any means; the original song does it.. Justice and k?d skillfully weaves his way around the catchy, rave-ready OG track to make an upgraded hit. A unique take on a classic track. Everyone needs to check it out ASAP!

The new swindail remix of seekae‘s “Turbine Blue” is so far away from where seekae‘s genre of music lies that I almost couldn’t believe it was a remix of the original indie hit track. Besides being pitched a couple keys down from the original track, this remix also shifts into a whole new combination of sounds. It sounds like the sibling to the Mii theme song at parts, but still quirky enough to be its own thing. The little jam sesh with the keys near the end of swindail‘s remix adds the cutest final touch to a wholesome track.

luhx. puts on an amazing live show, (I can personally attest to this, they opened for Lido when he stopped by Berklee not too long ago) and the energy that they were able to uphold on stage transitions smoothly off the stage as well.

There’s a certain energy to “no rush” that builds from within; perhaps it’s the calm assortment of textures that open up the track, which slowly transitions into a focus on some impressively well-written lyrics.

“no rush.” chorus is this vibrant, fiery dash that adds the final touch to the whole track that makes it absolutely breathtaking. Although not the band’s debut track, it definitely showcases the promise they have as a breakout act.

Maybe it’s because Bruno Mars just released his excellent new album “24K Magic” that I’ve really been in a funky mood lately, but this new hit “Thirsty” from Pretty Sister is one of the best new tracks I’ve heard all week.

Impassioned vocals contrast nicely with spirited, synth-infused, guitar-laced production that will make you want to stand up and just D.A.N.C.E. The chorus (“Sorry I’m just thirsty…”) is insanely catchy and it doesn’t hurt that everything else about this song demands for the listener to be lifted up into good spirits.

No complaints, though. Sean Turk‘s new remix of “Think” by TV Noise is one of the sweetest remixes to come out of last week and it’s because of that Bedroom Bass brand of sound he’s got going on.

There’s a soft edge to the track that will make listeners want to simultaneously relax and get up. A guitar slowly fades the track out near the end, sort of like a nice lullaby (or maybe a smooth transition to the next banger the club DJ has on shuffle, it could go either way tbh) and leaves the listener with some thoughts to contemplate before catching some zzz’s or continuing on with their fun night out.

Basically, everyone should be a fan of Bedroom Bass because it’s a sound that I can see will continue to catch on with everyone. Sean Turk is growing his fanbase, and that’s pretty chill.
