“The Way I Feel Inside” is the final single taken from Cape Weather‘s debut self-titled EP, out April 12 via Future Gods.
Covering an iconic band or a rock standard is never easy but Cape Weather, the Los Angeles-based duo comprising Natalie Smith and Eric Jackowitz, seem to love challenges. Ahead of their debut EP which will be available everywhere tomorrow, the band unveil their cover of The Zombies‘ 1965’s song “The Way I feel Inside.” Although most of the bands would choose to dust off and polish up such oldies, the two best friends, who attended Berklee College of Music together, decided to keep the track drowned in nostalgia.
With their laid-back and softly tropical groove, Smith and Jackowitz emphasize the charming candor and bashfulness of the lyrics and bring a delightful touch of bittersweetness to the song. Dreamy and sun-kissed, “The Way I Feel Inside” sounds like a Californian romance in sepia tone. Listen below.
