Cut Copy announce fifth album, share 'Standing In The Middle Of The

Melbourne’s synth-pop foursome Cut Copy just announced their fifth album ‘Haiku From Zero’ and shared the opening track as a new single. Listen to ‘Standing In The Middle Of The Field’ below.

Cut Copy started in 2001 in Melbourne as the solo project of Dan Whitford, a DJ and graphic designer. In 2017, the band is a quartet and they just announced their fifth album ‘Haiku From Zero’ for September. It will be the follow up to 2013’s ‘Free Your Mind’. The album was recorded in their hometown of Melbourne as well as in Copenhagen, Washington DC, New York, and Atlanta. It was co-produced by Ben Allen.

About ‘Haiku From Zero’, Dan Whitford detailed:

So much of this album is about this mosaic of information, images that we’re surrounded by on a day-to-day basis, […] Sometimes it feels like overload, but there’s a weird random beauty in it. The idea of squeezing poetry from chaos was where the title of the album came from – the idea of finding something poetic in the overload.

Coming with this announcement, they also shared the opening track ‘Standing In The Middle Of The Field’ as the second single. Indeed, the band already unveiled the track ‘Airbone’ some weeks ago. Listen to this new track below.
