grandson – Bury Me Face Down

Hailing from Toronto, 23-year-old newcomer Grandson has taken the best from the boiling scene of his city to propose a unique style; a winning formula that you can hear in his latest single “Bury Me Face Down.”

Grandson was born in the small town of Englewood New Jersey. He grew up surrounded by music, from jazz to rock & roll to rap, dancehall, and R&B. It’s in this environment that he probably drew inspiration to propose his own sound: a unique mix of trap and rock music. The producer started to shape this singular music soundscape after his arrival in Montreal where he was attending university.

About “Bury Me Face Down”, the artist, who is now based in LA, detailed:

“Bury Me Face Down” was written during a Quentin Tarantino marathon I had one day this summer. I found the resiliency of the protagonists in his stories similar to the strength needed to survive in the music industry. The mentality of “There’s nothing you can say or do to me to stop me from getting where I need to be. Even if they drag me down I’m going to claw my way back up.
