Mounika. – I Feel Love

Mounika. Beats I Feel Love

Do you have any idea what the French hip-hop scene is like? Yeah, me neither (I’m in NYC, forgive me). But let me introduce you to an incredible French producer by the name of Mounika. The laid-back, textured production of Mounika’s tracks is like an auditory slice of Key Lime Pie – their songs are airy, textured but still light enough that you can go for a run after indulging (or while indulging? Yikes, I’m really pushing this metaphor, huh). Any way you slice it, she brings a refreshingly relaxed sound to the current state of hip-hop.

On “I Feel Love”, French hip-hop and beats artist Mounika brings some 90’s-esque drumbeats and a soulful jazzy touch!

“I Feel Love” sticks to Mounika’s script of 90’s-esque drumbeats and a soulful, crooning sample of Yaw’s 2009 release, “Where Would You Be” (which deserves a listen too!). She cuts the snippets of sound together briskly, creating a terrace of smoothness that will subconsciously sink you into a more relaxed state of mind.

Details are sparse on her next release with their label DLoaw & Co., but they’ll be playing at an event called “Noble Silence” #5 on July 15th in Paris. If you have a chance to go, DO IT. Then email me a shitty recording of their set – anything to hear more from them!
