Past You – Faith

Get in the mood for NYC-based dream pop outfit Past You. Following up their single “With You Now”, they shared last December a second track taken from their upcoming debut EP. Discover “Faith” below.

Past you is an avant-garde pop band from New York that draws inspiration from shoegaze, techno, and post-punk, and with strong roots in classical music. The result is described as a “dreamgaze” sound that varies somewhere in between The National and M83. According to iHeartMoosiq, the band is headed by Ben Guo (vocals, synth) and Bea Go (vocals) but also features contributions from Rob Karpay (cello), Ethan Helm (woodwinds), and Noah Berman (guitar).

Past You‘s last offering, “Faith” is a synth-ode to a lost paradise, between nostalgia and illusions

Past You‘s last offering, “Faith” is a synth-ode to lost paradise. A theme that is closely linked to co-dependence and spirituality. Over a crescendo and hypnotising loop, the band repeats a sentence that both sounds nostalgic and illusory.
