Today, LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE is preparing the ground before the release of his debut EP in 2017 via Create/Control by premiering, on HighClouds, an experimental and stripped down version of Frank Ocean‘s massive track “Swim Good“.
Since the release of his debut track “Mine”, back in 2015, the enigma LIFE IF BETTER BLONDE remains quite intact. Indeed, we don’t know a lot about the mysterious Melbourne-based electronic producer but his music was enough to get attention from Purple Sneakers and Pilerats. Last year, the bizarreness of his Natalie Erika James-directed video for “Mine” was even awarded as the “video clip of the year” at the J Awards, an annual recognition of the best Australian Music by triple J. The artist just signed on Create/Control and is now working on the release of his debut EP.
It’s a funny blink that LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE is actually doing here. He was celebrating the benefits of being blonde before Frank Ocean and his last album “Blonde”. Today, by covering the American artist, he comes full circle! The track is a perfect demonstration of his production and vocal skills. The emotional piano and the well polished electronic casing remind us of James Blake, with a warmful and soulful touch. The sun of Australia versus the rain of the UK.
Listen to LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE‘s unique spin on Frank Ocean‘s “Swim” and understand why the artist is a contender of the Aussie music scene!
