“My Goodbyes” is taken from Rapport‘s debut EP, In The Dark, out now via Arbutus Records.
Hailing from Toronto, Rapport is an 80s-infused indie-pop trio consisting of Maddy Wilde, Kurt Marble, and Mike Pereira. A few days ago, they unveiled their self-produced debut EP via Montreal-based label Arbutus, who spoiled us this year with essential new music. To celebrate this new release, they have now shared a video for “My Goodbyes”, which was directed by band member Kurt Marble. As expected, the clip looks like a vintage feast (do you feel the Cyndi Lauper vibes in Wilde‘s hair colour as well?).
About the track, Maddy Wilde detailed on Exclaim! where the visuals were premiered:
[su_quote]Sometimes it’s really hard to walk away from things that you know are bad for you. ‘My Goodbyes’ explores my relationship with vices; the bittersweet moment when you lean into something terrible that you’ve tried again and again to quit, and the relief you experience when you just give in to it.[/su_quote]
