Riley Taylor – Fear

The indie pop track “Fear”, by Riley Taylor, deals with his fight with anxiety and panic attacks that left him trapped in his room for months.

About the track, Riley Taylor explained:

“I had an epiphany – the more you fight and avoid the anxiety or the next panic attack, the worse it becomes”

After this realization, it took only one day for him to write and record “Fear” in the very bedroom he had locked himself in for so long.

“Fear” features a steady and unchanging drumbeat with synths that are added as the intensity grows. According to Taylor, the beat symbolizes the calm mind we always have access too, and the instruments are added like how anxiety and panic clutter our mental state.

“But that still and calm mind always remains whether we see it or not”, Taylor says. “Once in a while we just have to go find it again.”
