Rosie Lowe‘s sophomore album YU is due out May 10 on Wolf Tone / Caroline International.
Three years after her remarkable debut album Control, singer-songwriter Rosie Lowe is introducing us to the universe of her new full-length project. According to Lowe, YU is a record that “is about other. I wanted to write about my experience of sharing my life with another as a lover, friend and partner”.
Taken from the 13-track project, here’s the first single “Birdsong” which features an impressive casting of backing vocalists with the likes of Jamie Woon, Jamie Lidell, Jordan Rakei and Kwabs. Reminescent of D’Angelo‘s masterpiece Black Messiah, the flawless production is courtesy of Dave Okumu. “Birdsong” also comes with a Jovan Todorovic-directed video.
