Superduo Sanctuary Lakes tease debut album with aqueous “Our life Together”

Sanctuary Lakes‘ self-titled debut album will be released on June 21 on Cutters Records.

Today, we’re more than happy to introduce you to a brand new supergroup. Comprising Tim Hoey of Cut Copy and Andy Szekeres of Midnight Juggernauts, Sanctuary Lakes came together during a period of reflection and faint anxiety. In that sense, the project can be labeled as cathartic and therapeutical. According to the press release, it also values feeling over form, intention over intellect, imagination over the explicit.

Taken from the record, the first single “Our life Together” recalls a day at the beach. If you close your eyes, it’s actually quite easy to imagine the dazzling white sands of a beach, where the waves come to roll and disappear. Besides the breezy and evasive lo-fi arrangements, “Our life Together” also sounds very organic, giving birth to something that could be both eternal and fragile, universal and ephemeral. To play on this contrast, the duo uses a beautiful metaphor between the ocean and love: “In a sea of love, you and me belong, endless together.” Listen below.
