Baltimore native Josiah Wise, better known as post-gospel artist serpentwithfeet, just released his first video ever for “Four Ethers“, one of the highlights of his excellent “Blisters EP” out now via TriAngle Records.
In the CRUDO-directed video (CRUDO= Timothy Saccenti and Alvin Cruz), the artist depicts masculinity through Greco-Roman wrestling and Butoh, a Japanese avant-garde dance which usually features playful and grotesque imagery, taboo topics, extreme or absurd environments, and that is traditionally performed in white body makeup. Appearing with an amazing red dress/cape, serpentwithfeet is flamboyant as ever.
