100%WET's new single, "Over Me," comes with an epic animated video.

100%WET, the Copenhagen-based duo of Casper Munns and Jakob Birch, blends the shoegaze’s immersive “wall of sound” with the high-octane energy of drum and bass, creating their very own genre: hypergaze.

Readying their self-titled debut EP, out May 16 via Crunchy Frog Recordings, they’ve just unveiled their latest single, “Over Me,” featuring the hauntingly ethereal vocals of fellow Copenhagen artist Amalie Hannibal Petri (Polly) – she was already featured on their previous single, “Ether.”

“Over Me” is an intense breakup anthem, with cryptic yet evocative lyrics. Its shifting tempos reflect the highs and lows of an emotional rollercoaster, moving from downfall to raw catharsis. The track is accompanied by an epic video, directed by Ada Grüter.

100%WET's "Ether" is out now via Crunchy Frog Records.

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, 100%WET is part of the current wave of shoegaze acts redefining the iconic 80s and 90s sound with a refreshing twist. Like their contemporaries Untitled (Halo), Paira, RIP Swirl, and urika’s bedroom, the duo—producers and guitarists Jakob Birch and Casper Munns—infuses the genre with innovative elements. Their sound blends 90s breakbeats, the deep punch of drum’n’bass, and the dreamy, nostalgic haze of vaporwave. Collaborating with a rotating cast of vocalists, including Eir, Polly, and Hockeysmith, they create a rich, textured soundscape.

Their latest single, “Ether,” is a hypnotic ride through baggy breakbeats, acid-drenched basslines, and soaring shoegaze guitars. At its peak, the hard-tuned chorus melody cuts through, elevating the track into an ethereal anthem. “Ether was built from a loop on an analogue 303 synth known from 90’s acid house/rave culture,” they explained about the distorted song. “We gradually kept on adding, re-writing or removing different layers and sections throughout multiple iterations of the song. After we recorded vocals with Sanna (Eir), it became more clear to us that the song was asking us to embrace a more carefree or ‘over the top’ vibe that we also like from hyperpop, while still maintaining our love for loud and layered guitars.”

“Ether” captures the paradox of being in an altered state of mind—where fleeting bliss meets a detached, dissociative haze. It’s a bittersweet sensation, painted in stark contrasts: golden euphoria laced with a deep, monochromatic melancholy. Guest vocalist Eir brings this duality to life, singing: “I don’t know how to connect / Lost in disarray / I don’t know how to connect / So I disconnect.”
