The mix features 21 tracks that are about the different sounds and emotions that Kourtesis’ carries with her and are a celebration of her musical journey across the world.

“This series has meant the world to me ever since I moved to Berlin and really began DJing,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “So being invited to contribute feels surreal in the best way. The mix is a celebration of the music that shaped me, tracing a journey from Peru to Berlin and through all the cities I’ve been lucky enough to play along the way.”

The tracks transition from dance-fueled peaks to softer, personal moments of introspection for Kourtesis, shaped by the grief she felt after losing her mother. The mix includes four exclusive tracks that Kourtesis created herself including “It’s You,” “Texas Changing,” “A Brief Look In Your Eyes” and “Los Poemas No Siempre Riman (DJ-Kicks),” which she recorded with Afro-Peruvian group Novalima. Other music from talented producers that we at HighClouds love are also featured on the mix including Jon Hopkins, Daphni (Cariobu), Myd, Axel Boman, Avalon Emerson, Nick León, and many others. Earlier this year, Axel Boman returned from a 10-year long solo hiatus with double album LUZ / Quest for fire. LUZ has grown on us, becoming one of our favorite electronic releases of the year. The Studio Barnhus co-founder just unveiled a video (directed by Adam Chitayat and entirely shot via Google Maps Street) for track “Out Sailing”, which features Man Tear and Inre Frid. Swedish producer Axel Boman returns with a mini EP, “Eyes Of My Mind / Echoes Of My Mind,” released on Studio Barnhus, a label that he manages with Kornél Kovács. Drawing from festival-ready house music, Gesamtkunstwerk, and psychedelic influences, the single also comes with an animation, courtesy of their regular collaborator Malin Gabriella Nordin.

A print magazine featuring 60 of the images that form the video is also available in limited edition. Like the artwork of the single, the magazine was designed by Robin Ekemark, another visual artist used to gravitate around the Studio Barnhus.
