BRAND NEW SOUND: Two bros looking for good shit!

Oscar and Louis are our new daily diggers and every Monday, visit HighClouds to find out their discoveries of the week! There is something for every – good – taste here!

[su_spacer]

1. Nadah El Shazly – “Ahwar”

Nadah El Shazly is a composer and singer from Cairo. She combines tradition and experimentation for an explosive and incomparable rendering. A great sensibility in her work that carries us through the roots of time to the modern complexity of music, mixing electronic sounds and jazz. Her first album was released in November 2017 via Nawa Recording.

[su_divider top=”no”]

2. umru – “Cellophane” (feat. lil curry + sophie meiers)

After having caught the attention of Soundcloud listeners with a serie of remixes, young American producer umru continues his ascent to the top by playing more and more stages in New York and Los Angeles. Large underground bass and experimental sound design are the main recipe for his music.

[su_divider top=”no”]

3. Block-2 – “stroodle”

Abdul Month Pervez, aka Block-2, comes from Pakistan and created his project 2 years ago. Member of the collective and label forever youth music founded in 2012 which brought together the elite of current Indian electronic music. Abdul collaborates with those who will become the new emerging scene of the genre. Heavy bass, some glitchs and acid sounds to make some quality tracks.

[su_divider top=”no”]

4. zotti – “Crystal”

Young Matt Zotti from Nashville (Tennessee) is also one of the young talents in front of the electronic stage on the soundcloud network. Creativity, nuances and textures. Pure crystal.

[su_divider top=”no”]

5. Scienze – “Main Course”

Jamal Monsanto aka Scienze originally comes from Brooklyn where he started with his brother from the age of nine to make beats on a Casio Keyboard. Since then, passion has never stopped. Several mixtapes, feats by dozens and an album in 2016. Big influence from the producer J. Dilla. He has even done a tribute mixtape for him. Bon appétit!

[su_divider top=”no”]

6. serpentwithfeet – “four ethers”

Originally from Baltimore, Josiah Wise reflects a tortured soul that speaks of hate, violence, death through music with a sacred allure. A dark atmosphere and hard texts overlooked by intense visuals. There are rituals that make serpentwithfeet‘s music a separate genre. We feel the influence of gospel and soul that forging his voice. Wiseman.

[su_divider top=”no”]

7. MAXO – “Plushlined”

Another talent from Brooklyn. Max Coburn, better known as Maxo, unveils tracks worthy of the greatest vintage video games. Acid and glitch for an explosive rendering. It’s a pretty special style, but it’s definitely interesting. Some nostalgia and deep down we’re all big kids. Level up Max!

[su_divider top=”no”]

We hope you dig this selection of Brand New Sound. If like us, you can’t wait until Monday for discovering their daily find, please follow Oscar and Louis over Facebook and listen to Brand New Sound on Spotify and Deezer too!

[su_spacer]

1. Oklou – “Friendless”

From a small quiet corner of the French countryside, young Marylou Mayniel, aka Oklou, moved to Paris in 2014 to impose his style on the current electronic underground scene. Two EPs in the luggage and a third format, “The Rite of May”, which will be released in March 2018. Hyper melodic tracks that revolve around emotions related to the highlights of her life.

2. Ta-Ra – “Kawasaki Ninja”

After spending several years in Japan, Ta-Ra returned to Paris and released her new album “Sunrayz” in December 2017. On this track she’s talking about love with a yakuza. Bikers in the streets of Yokohama.

Big beats and airy vocals.

3. MONTE BOOKER – “Kompany”

The talented beatmaker from Chicago, Monte Booker, created a real gold mine on his soundcloud. He’s signed to Soulection, the modern RnB label. Tracks come from all kinds in its own style. There’s enough to get his teeth into for the day.

He’s Monte (checkout “mon tea“)

[su_divider top=”no”]

4. Lou Phelps – “What Time Is It”

23-year-old rapper-producer, Louis Philippe Celestin aka Lou Phelps has made his debut in the duo The Celestics alongside his famous bro KAYTRANADA. Big hip-hop tracks with 80’s codes and Lou-P‘s technique for effective rendering. It feels like these two kids have been sweating music forever and want to be some of the best.

It’s Time.

Rapper from Durban, he’s created his first musical project as a duo called Dirty Paraffin. Currently signed to the australian label Affine Records. We can already find a number of tracks that won over the crowd. Influences speak of itself and the universe is reflected through a result that eventually transports elsewhere.

OKLM.

6. Aldous RH – “Sensuality”

Originally from Manchester, Alexander Aldous Robinson Hewett, better known as Aldous RH, takes us into his psycho-romantic delirium with acidic and colorful tessitures. You can feel the whole range of ingredients that Aldous has in his modern day shaman bag.

“Prince” Aldous

7. WILLS – “Woes vs. Whoas”

A native from the Bronx and a talented producer. Wills imposes his style everywhere. Well-crafted prods to set up his universe and a soul voice that comes with a message. He’s even going to tour with Son Lux throughout March 2018.

BRAND NEW SOUND: Two bros looking for good shit!

Oscar and Louis are our new daily diggers and every Monday, visit HighClouds to find out their discoveries of the week! There is something for every – good – taste here!

[su_spacer]

1. Greyhat – “In the Wall”

Greyhat, aka Michael,’s from a little town near Portland. Passionate about music and video games, it’s been almost ten years since he produces. In his influences we have Nujabes, Bonobo and Flying Lotus and we can definitely hear all of that. Soon a brand new EP. A few jewels already there.

Hacker

[su_divider top=”no”]

2. infinite bisous – ” life + you”

From England and based in Paris, Rory Mccarthy, aka infinite bisous, has already been touring with all the upper crust of the indie scene (Beck, Mac DeMarco, Metronomy,..). One hell of a face and a good style. Rory released his first album “w / love” in March 2017. The name of the project came to him by watching the French kissing all the time. To listen with love.

Love

[su_divider top=”no”]

3. Louis Cole – “Thinking”

Louis Cole is a duo from Los Angeles, Louis and Alliz. They are taking us to a funk-pop-electronic trip. Colorful harmonies and strong groove for a compact rendering. It’s super kitsch and from a different world, but it gives a good boost to start the day. He plays in another band called Knower, just as explosive.

4. Dylan Kidd – “home af”

New Orleans producer, Dylan Kidd released his first EP in March 2017. The kid mix electro, pop, jazz and rnb to create a unique sound tessiture. The kind of music that send you to other horizons.

The Kid.

5. BOSCO – “Cruel”

Located in Atlanta and from Georgia, BOSCO has been doing a lot of noise recently. Her album released at the end of 2017 was part of the big musical revelations of the genre.
You can feel the talent and the great work of production behind for a very efficient project. Signed at the label Fool’s Gold, no doubt she has a bright future.

Queen.

[su_divider top=”no”]

6. TSUKI – “Who? .ft. Shiloh Dynasty“

Homemade beats from TSUKI, for tortured souls. That’s how the Chicago duo define their music. Two formats for Levi and Chanlar including “Severance Package” released last April on Sunset Waves label. Low-fat bass and hot melodies for a result that shakes the heart. Those kind of music you like to listen when you’ve decided it was another shitty day. It slips.

Aligato.

7. the trp – “Lavender”

“We make music for kids in inter-dimensional travel” OK… The Trp are a trio from London and New York. They’re on another planet and drop cosmic bombs. A kind of tropical and psychedelic rnb full of love. There are already a good number of tracks, some featuring and a little cover from mister Frank Ocean in the middle.

To infinity and beyond.

[su_spacer]

1. Nick Hakim – “Bet She Looks Like You”

Nick Hakim, native from Washington D. C, has released his LP “Green Twins” in May 2017. Young prodigy of soul, he offers us an air odyssey to escape a bit from everyday life. A lo-fi prod, some tracks even sound like psyche.

Prince Nick.

[su_divider top=”no”]

2. Chanksdaddy & Ragga – “Lost me”

The multi-faces Canadian Chanksdaddy offers a lot of sweet prods. The guy makes tracks every 2 days so you can go without moderation.

Thanks daddy.

She just released her first album in 2017 on the label Fresh Select. Her influences come from jazz and soul and of course, she has has a well-typed voice. The project is part of a successful fusion of its aspirations.

Neo-Soul

[su_divider top=”no”]

4. Allmos – “Presque Vu”

Big track from Brooklyn beatmaker Allan Cole aka Allmos. It is part of the “Sound Effect vol. 1” tape, released last month on the Fresh Select label. Allan is also part of another project in a duo known as The Stuyvesants. They have dropped some big hip-hop and rap mixtapes for the last 8 years. Experience and technique for a format that listens all along.

7. Puma Blue – “Want Me”

Jacob Allen, South East London, is Puma Blue<./em>. One of those neo-crooners who touch your heart with sound. It’s like an ice cream that melts in the sun. An EP 5 tracks, “Swum Baby”. Way too short.

Class.

Nathan Menon is from India. He has his own universe that soothes and transports. A voice that flies away and progressive arrangements as simple as possible. Relaxing, inspiring, it feels good. A collaboration on a lot of tracks with another artist named Tom Day.

Take off.

2. Roshima – “Nightbirds”

Diamond from Belgium, young Yussef Merzoug (21 years) is a hardworker. Roshima shares as soon as he can his personal vision of music, leading crowds in his melodies with strong beats.

3. Freddie Sol – “mylene (demo)”

No info about Freddie Sol, nothing. And I searched… It’s cool, it slides alone, so I share.

In any case, Arian Cook makes greasy sound, he cooks the electro with butter and a zest of olive oil because there’s never enough.
Sebastian Roca mixes influences to create beautiful little jewels.

BRAND NEW SOUND: Two bros looking for good shit!

Oscar and Louis are our new daily diggers and every Monday, visit HighClouds to find out their discoveries of the week! There is something for every – good – taste here!

[su_spacer]

1. Dessert – “Eyes Wide Shut”

Mysterious trio from L.A Dessert who put big baby faces on their singles covers. Music for kids they say. Great sound and tricky beat. 5 Singles for the bros. As good as starting a meal through dessert.

Cherry

[su_divider top=”no”]

2. Les Drogues Fortes – “Pharmacie”

Les Drogues Fortes is a collective of 19 Quebec rappers who released an album produced by Propulse Ent. on the theme of Christmas. On “Pharmacie”, they make you discover all the best substances to enjoy your new year’s eve. It’s still better than eggnog and the pair of socks we offer you every year.

Happy hangover

[su_divider top=”no”]

3. mon tea – “ride”

Absolutely zero information on this dude… mon tea‘s music is enigmatic as the person. A mix of glitch and soul that opens the horizon. There are hints that it could simply be the side project of beat maker Monte Booker signed to Soulection.

Whoismontea?

[su_divider top=”no”]

4. James P – “You ain’t gotta question…” w/ Jibri Mclean

James Martin aka James P is from Baltimore. One day his friend called him James P. and voila. His mother once told him that he would become someone famous, so little James has believed in his dream and throwed beats in all directions. On “You ain’t gotta question…”, there’s his buddy Jibri Mclean by his side who put his voice and that dirty groove.

BootyMusic.

[su_divider top=”no”]

5. Sophie Meiers – “medication”

Sophie Meiers is from Colorado. Another talented “bedroom artist”. She’s doing a lil bit of everything in a decontracted way. In any case she’s talented and her soundcloud is full of gold to start the year well. There are feats, covers, a bit of everything, like her.

GutterGirl

[su_divider top=”no”]

6. Icey Blouie “아이씨 블루이” – “Lit” ft. Futuristic Swaver

Young South Korean rapper signed on the label Alive Music. Icey Blouie dropped his second mini-EP a few months ago. Produced by Laptopboyboy aka Futuristic Swaver with who he forms the duo Cinderella 99. There’s a crazy thing also in Korea around this music’s style. Anyway, these guys are perfectly applying the recipe with the korean touch, and it’s bouncing hard.

Iceyboogie.

[su_divider top=”no”]

7. Glam Gould “글램 굴드” – “Her”

Formerly Rem and Moro, Glam Gould comes from Seoul and he just released his EP “Wet” a few months ago. At first listen, we are directly drawn into his personal world. About his music, he says that it has to be taken like three complex themes about a relationship. Only 3 tracks on his EP but so perfect.

Glam Gold
