“It’s a record shaped by commercial audio construction kits from a bygone era—an index of cliches turned inside out,” Lopatin explains. “It is a return to a process-oriented form of music making for me that I felt best evoked a certain kind of madness and ennui in the heart of culture today.”

The new LP follows 2023’s Again and arrives alongside his recent scoring work for the upcoming film Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, but Tranquilizer feels like a very personal statement. Built from sonic fragments that recall lost ‘90s archives, the record leans into that strange space where nostalgia and unease overlap.

These first three previews (of 15 tracks in total) are already setting the tone, shifting from misty and breathy textures to jittery bursts of percussion and warped, beat-driven layers. You can dive into “For Residue,” “Bumpy,” and “Lifeworld” now, the latter coming with a self-directed video.

“Virginia Tech” follows the warm, collaborative vibe of Sinister Grift, which Panda Bear recorded in Lisbon with friends and fellow Animal Collective members. And good news: he’s extending his tour dates across the US and Europe this fall (itinerary below).

In 2019, Weyes Blood announced a trilogy of albums with inaugural album Titanic Rising, which was an observation of doom to come. On Friday, she will unveil the second installment, And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow, and this time, we’re in the thick of it. “We’re in a fully functional shit show,” she explains about the context of the project, in which she tries to navigate our current chaotic and instable world.

Before dropping the full album, she’s unveiled a last single “God Turn Me Into A Flower,” which features Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never on keyboards. Earlier this year, Soccer Mommy released the acclaimed and Daniel Lopatin-produced album Sometimes, Forever. One of the highlight off the record, “Shotgun” just got a remix treatment by HighClouds favourites, Magdalena Bay. And as expected, this new version is a synth feast. Two years after color theory, Soccer Mommy is readying the release of her new album, Sometimes, Forever. Produced by Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, who recently contributed on The Weeknd’s Dawn FM, the project is spearheaded by lead single “Shotgun,” which dusts off the 90s alt rock influences of soccer mommy’s first album.

“”Shotgun” is all about the joys of losing yourself in love,” Sophie Allison stated. “I wanted it to capture the little moments in a relationship that stick with you.”

Two years after Age Of, Daniel Lopatin has finally announced the release of a new Oneohtrix Point Never album whose title was inspired by a wrong enunciation heard on Boston radio station Magic 106.7. “It loosely summons the broadcasting logic of radio dayparts, starting in the morning and ending overnight,” explains the press release. Coming with the announcement, the experimental producer has already unveiled three tracks: the intro “Cross Talk I,” “Auto & Allo” and the Caroline Polachek-assisted “Long Road Home”.

Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never recently teased the release of a new album. Today, we know a bit more about this new project which is set to feature a lot of collaborations with great artists like James Blake, Prurient, Anohni, Eli Keszler, Kelsey Lu and Shuan Trujillo.

Oneohtrix Point Never has now shared the first single “Black Snow,” and a self-directed video. The track was mixed and partly produced by James Blake and features backing vocals by long-time collaborator Anohni. The autotuned ballad “Black Snow” is inspired by Nick Land’s ‘Cybernetic Culture Research’ Unit: “a 1990’s collective of artist-philosophers that produced works of performance art, poetry and fiction.” Watch it below.
