[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”1″]W[/su_dropcap]ARP collaboration with Channel 4’s refreshed Random Acts series has now a second episode. In the video of “System” by Hudson Mohawke, NYC’s buildings and streets are meticulously filmed from an helicopter in order to illustrate the complexity of the urban systems. Dominic Flanningan, who is the creative director of the Scottish label LuckyMe, and Nic Hamilton also collaborated on this installment.


Dominic Flanningan: “A favourite from Lantern, with ‘System’ Hud Mo was inspired by some tear-out Jeff Mills offset with those minimalist classical arpeggios – and when considering an associated film I thought of classic rave visuals and cg stock art of the late 90s where the grid of the city would be superimposed with circuit boards and processors. Here we updated it for 2015, commissioning our own 4K helicopter shoot over Manhattan which Nic Hamilton treated, placing in a CG environment that evokes Philip Glass ’1000 Airplanes On The Roof’.”

Nic Hamilton: “System is about big cities and screens, manic focused euphoria and cinematic panoramas. It is the experience of NYC from a helicopter at dawn with a 4G connection.”
