Originally, her family is from the Philippines. As such, her music got inspired by the sea, its darkness and completeness. About the track, the artist explained:

“Blue Whale” is inspired and influenced by different cultures and nature. My ancestors and relatives are a fisherfolk living on the oceans for generations. We’ve been feeding and depending on it for so long now and “Blue Whale” is my way to show appreciation of the ocean.

The duo brings a new pop track tainted with electronic touches, reminding us why we love them so much. Reminding us their previous tracks “Real” and “Closer,” 2017 should be their year.

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]L[/su_dropcap]ast year, we discovered Buoy, a promising Australian singer who’s first single “Took Me Up” was associated to some FKA Twigs. After releasing her debut EP “Immersion” last summer, she’s ready to share a second EP “Break” and she announced it with “Clouds & Rain”, a single produced by Jack Grace.

Don’t be fooled by the beginning of the song… Even if it starts with a focus on the softness of Buoy‘s voice, it will quickly evolve into a wild electro-pop song with beats dropping as if the rain started and kept dropping louder until the calming of the storm, to leave you in an ocean of kindness. “Clouds & Rain” is produced by BUOY herself alongside Jack Grace, with whom she already worked in the past on his track “Hills” but also on her debut EP, and Christopher Port .

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]D[/su_dropcap]o you remember the Electro/Soul trio JIL? They were one of our Newcomers of the Week in November with their song “Emotional Heat”. After a second single “Freak”, the NYC-based band shared a third one called “IMfat”.

Can you feel those smoky and edgy vibrating vocals with this electronic-psychedelic melody that create a soulful aura during the whole song? It will make you feel like you’re floating in the middle of nowhere in space, moving all around the galaxy. Where you only hear the song resonating.

The song was written and produced by the trio with a little help of Fern Souza for the mix.

If you never heard of her before, Bonzai is a young artist that appeared on the internet 7 months ago via Mura Musa‘s label Anchor Point, releasing a strong debut single called “KBG“. After that she unleashed “Doses” on the internet, the first single taken from her debut EP. “Royah” was a memorable EP, in which Bonzai brought a lot of different influences. More recently, she was featured in Mura Masa‘s latest banger “What If I Go?“

“Sleepy Hungry” is a 9-tracks EP (YES 9) including noticable ones such as “Daniel Gets It Wrong”, “Lights On” and “Where Are U Now”. The whole EP is hysterical as we like it and it has big influences either in R&B, electronic genres such as acid and house.

You could even spot some similarities with The Chemical Brothers in “No Rest” where the climax hits and you are literally transported to the early 90’s when Belgian new beat, “Block Rockin’ Beats” by the English chemical duo and at some point even Prodigy with their hit “Smack My Bitch Up” were hitting hard in the clubs. It is incredible how Bonzai seems to have such a massive palette of different backgrounds creating an impressive melting-pot of sounds that somehow match together.

We are expecting from Bonzai to sing in a very sensual way because of her beautiful soulful voice but once again she kept her whole universe of 90’s electro and she probably even pushed it harder without losing her own spirit. There is no way that she is going to keep it in down-tempo because her tracks are made for dancing !

This EP is a mix between Rabit thanks to the production, Sophie thanks to way to give to electronic sounds a pop turn, Charli XCX thanks to its powerfulness and Arca for its weirdness and the way of pushing the boundaries farther … And as trash as we are, we obviously really really REALLY enjoy it but be prepared… don’t listen to it early in the morning… unless you are in an after party

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]A[/su_dropcap] few months back, we were quite impressed by a 13yo girl based in LA who released an extremely good song called “Ocean Eyes”. The young talented singer Billie Eilish now shared simple but beautiful video for her track.

Billie is moving with the beats, in this oceanic atmosphere, while the background is being animated during the hook as if it is waves. She stands still, looking at the camera with her blue and sharp eyes until she gets scared and start to cry that blue powder.

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]T[/su_dropcap]he London-based electronic producer Lil Silva announced his new EP “Journey Inside My Imagination” and shared the first track taken from it. Discover the addictive “Lines”.

His new EP will follow the 2014 “Mabel” EP but also the 2015 mixtape “Drumatic”. As usual, the producer manages to bring his own style with this new track “Lines”. It’s growing from a smooth melody to an insanely hypnotic and catchy metallic beat.
