“Turning Wheels” is taken off Monad’s self-released debut EP, titled EP, out now in most streaming services.

Israeli artist Eshchar Nachmany was so moved after attending an A.R. Kane concert that he decided to make a 180º and start making music from scratch. In 2017 he started releasing music under the Monad moniker, though it hasn’t been until this year that his debut EP came out. Like the cult London pop duo that changed his life, Nachmany’s music falls under the dream pop label while deviating from it in interest ways. To start with, a prescient responsibility falls on his music’s rhythm section, as in his latest single “Turning Wheels”, whose video we are premiering.

The song’s backbone is almost exclusively composed of a looped drum beat that ends up holding layers and layers of guitars. It soon enters a poppier territory without losing a certain psychedelic charm – think Deerhunter covering Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes”. By the end of “Turning Wheels”, the rhythm section has turned so frantic that it’s almost impossible to believe that this was once a dream pop song. Flamenco-like handclaps play in the background to the song’s central drum beat, while the bassline runs loose trying to catch up with the drumming. It’s no wonder that the video, shot in the central bus station of Tel-Aviv and directed by Monad and Tamir Moosh, ends with people dancing freely to the song’s last minute.

About the video, Monad detailed:

[su_quote]I think we tried to further explore this theme of transformation, of movement – emotionally and physically. We weren’t necessarily choreographing the dancers with the music (although we did do it on some of the last scenes), but we were mostly trying to observe the scene and to let the group’s energy ebb, flow and intensify, while desires or aggression come to the surface.[/su_quote]

After the release of his debut “Heart” in 2017, UK-based producer doon kanda, the musical name of Jesse Kanda, unveils his sophomore EP “Luna” via Hyperdub.

In between his collaborations with Björk and Arca, the visual artist is quickly becoming one of the figures of the new experimental electronic scene. The release of the EP comes alongside the launch of his new website that you can visit here. He also promised that there are more visuals coming out soon in next few weeks. In a statement, he explained briefly:

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]I[/su_dropcap] probably have listened to Braids‘ latest album a hundred times. It was honestly one of the best albums of 2015. The trio decided to unveil a new EP called “Companion” made of 4 songs that were composed during their writing of “Deep In The Iris” but were left unfinished. The EP is due to be released on May 20th, but get a foretaste with the spacious video of “Companion”, the title track of the EP.

Kevan Funk, who directed the video, managed to bring a harmonious atmosphere to complete the song as he perfectly caught the vast universe of it and recorded a beautiful video that is a breath of fresh air and is as beautiful as the place where it was shot as it was shot in the Palm Desert of California.

I don’t remember losing you / Early in Spring that year

Raphaelle Standell-Preston sings about a love she lost in spite of her and she represents in the video all of the solitude and emptiness it left inside of her. Her loss changed her, to transform her in a sad and depress version of herself, which she shows in the video and sings to herself.

I don’t remember the last time I saw you / But your hair was long and blond

[su_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoYfBhMAEUE” width=”640″ height=”360″]
[su_quote]

“For one reason or another, these songs were left unfinished. At the time they felt separate to the songs that made up DITI – strong in their own right, but left as unknowns to a larger compositional work.” – Braids

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]W[/su_dropcap]e introduced to you a few months ago to the last EP “Half Below” by French artist, former Yelle member, TEPR. He has now shared the video for one of his tracks taken from that EP.

In this video directed by ELMØ, you can see a TEPR who has replaced his eyes by his mouth that repeats the lyrics of the track. The whole is also composed by gif like images and hypnotizing hands playing the instruments.

If you would like to listen to TEPR‘s EP, you can listen to it here on our EP Alert. The EP was released via Partyfine Records

[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”1″]W[/su_dropcap]hat happens when two geniuses team up for a song ? Marcus Marr & Chet Faker shared the first song taken from their upcoming collaborative EP.

“The Trouble With Us” is the first single taken from their upcoming joined EP, which is set to be released on December 4 via Chet Faker‘s own label, Detail Records.
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/228501848″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

The song took form after a 4-day session, and reunites Faker’s amazing skills for lyrics and producing along Marr’s special disco house groove.

Their collaboration started after a tweet from Chet about one of Marcus songs. Then the conversation started, and lead to this. A collaborative EP. We cannot wait to hear more from it.
