Following up on the visuals for the beautiful yet desperate single “Bil Ki“, Istanbul’s Hedonutopia have now unveiled a video for “Sev Beni,” one of the highlights of their third album. The Turkish duo, consisting of Fırat Külçek on guitars and vocals and Kerem Feyzi on synths and samples, has gained a local reputation with their forlorn combination of synth-pop and dream pop and with their use of an invented language in their lyrics.

On their love serenade “Sev Beni” — which means “Love Me” –, the band balance between freedom and romance. The automnal accompanying video, which was directed by İkbal Bayçöl and Abdulkadir Özer, was shot in the hilly region of Bursa and Kapanca. Watch below.

Hailing from the teeming city of Istanbul, Hedonutopia have just unveiled their third album Yakamoz Sandalı. For this new project, the duo comprising Fırat Külçek on guitars and vocals and Kerem Feyzi on synths and samples notably enrolled Jakuzi’s producer Taner Yucel. Veering from synth-pop to dream pop, Yakamoz Sandalı intermingles wistful Turkish lyrics with Hopelandic, a language without semantic meaning created by Sigur Rós which also leaves some room for personal interpretation.

Imagination is a precious asset to get into the project as these seven tracks depict the journey of a Noctulica boat mysteriously going away with passengers on board. Are they prisoners? Are they escaping? Is it for better or for worse? The bittersweet first single “Bil ki” recalls the peaceful waves of the ocean with its undulating vocal harmonies. But with lyrics like “Always trouble, worry, sadness, sorrow” and “Just keep in your mind that my blind eyes crying ground of floor,” there’s not much room left for hope.
