Ladies and gents, welcome to another round of “Jince-introduces-us-to-some-dope-ass-songs-that-came-out-recently” and I’m your host, Jince 😉 and this week’s playlist is called “Puppy Love” because I’m a grown man that creeps on big dogs and melts in the presence of puppies, especially obese ones *drool*

JINCE scours through hundreds of SoundCloud tracks every week to find the best new gems by artists that are flying under the radar.

So this week was a toughie. I had a hard time cutting down this past week’s great releases down to only 20, but alas I did. There’s a little bit more of an electronic melancholy vibe on this playlist than most, but it’s a vibe that I fucking adore so so much. I’m on that sadboy shit, mama.

This is the kind of track that relaxes you from inside out; no suits brings the smooth funkadelic production while one of my fav fellow brown dudes, Abhi the Nomad, provides a couple chillin-in-the-sun type of verses to help round out the carefree track.

There’s a bit of a haunting quality to this one – the main verses are sung in a wispy exasperated tone while the chorus sings with a ghostly tone. The overall vibe of the track is fresh – Koda has managed to combine nostalgic vocals with sparse, but powerful production.

Ellen Murphy, aka Only Girl, brings us on an epic journey that weaves through a thundering chorus, crying strings and Ellen’s own varied vocal range. With LOSTBOY on the production, “Fortune” ends up being a track that you’ll keep coming back to time and time again.

I love it when artists experiment with sound. In “Bloom,” you can hear Chymes play around with interesting samples in the sparse production, while vocally, the two singers of the group (Cameron and Kiersten) manage to intertwine their harmonies to create an electronic pillow that carries you gracefully through the track.

I’m a sucker for looped oooh’s and ahhh’s – “Man’s Man” kicks the track off with some soothing oooh’s but before you know it, the mood of the vocals shift suddenly and the whisper-singing becomes a soulful croon to the stars. You can hear the Octavian’s struggle with trying to become a “Man’s man” like his father. Though the mood on this Oktavian‘s track is markedly different from the others, this track will definitely be in the rotation for weeks to come.

Malik Ninety Five release fresh hip-house new single “Right Now”

New Orleans-based emcee and producer Malik Ninety Five is ready to release his forthcoming album “The Paradise Project” later this year. Here is a new taste taken from this full-length project: “Right Now“.

With “Right Now”, Malik Ninety Five propose a track with a perfect production, drawing inspiration from the genre’s roots while proposing something modern and fresh. The track, which deals with questions about the present and about what life can bring, is super catchy and offers a smart mix of hip-hop and chill deep house that is, by the way, reminiscent of GoldLink or Rome Fortune‘s sounds. Malik Ninety Five‘s unique genre definitely places the young artist as a rising act to put on your radar for 2017.

Kelela – Rewind (Goldlink Remix)

Having Kelela on the phone (who is currently touring around Australia), Annie Mac got to ask her some questions about her collaboration with Goldlink who was defined many times as being very “smart” by Kelela and also she got to give some informations about her upcoming album that “should be out this spring”. Bonzai – Doses

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]B[/su_dropcap]onzai, the Dublin-based artist premiered her second single “Doses” yesterday on Annie Mac‘s hottest record.

The first single “KGB” dropped 3 months ago via Anchor Point and immediately fell in love with this catchy banger.
“Doses” arrived yesterday, a song way more aggressive than her previous one. She’s showing she’s not here for kidding. You’d seriously fell great vibes from it. Bonzai shows her diversity with that song, it makes us impatient to know what she has to offer in the future.
Once again the song is out via Anchor Point, a label to which Mura Musa is also signed.

GoldLink – Polarized (Audio) ft. Demo Taped

The past weeks, the singer from Washington DC has been teasing this LP. Now he just shared his full LP and it contains a song featuring one of our beloved “Newcomer of the Week” Demo Taped.

The debut LP was supposed to be available on November 13th but, the singer decided to release it earlier and unveiled its totality on his YouTube channel today. We couldn’t not notice one of the songs with Demo Taped as a featuring. It’s always nice to see two artists we really like collaborating together specially if they combine their strengths and universes to create a song that totally fits both of them.

It’s not surprising, the song is as good as his previous releases and
GoldLink even blesses us with some singing. The single also features Anderson. Paak aka Breezy Lovejoy.
“Unique” is produced by Louie Lastic, who also produced his single “Spectrum”.

He recently shared a video for his 2014’s single with Sango: “WASSUP”. It was directed by Wiam Al-Zabari, filmed by DNZL. on a Kenzo Alvares‘ choreography. It featured amazing dance moves in an industrial environment.

His label Soulection also hosted a 2 hours show where he was the guest DJ.
