From his home in Berkshire, he made his sophomore EP, the follow-up of his debut “All We’ve Known”. For his new ambitious project, he came up with the idea of creating a full visual concept, that should be revealed during April. He wrote, filmed and directed it and it will start model Chloe Norgaard. The film is said to tell the story of the EP and we can’t to see some more.

The heartbreaking ballad comes after the release of lead single “Hearbeat“. The track is inspired by the singer/producer feeling vulnerable after writing a few notes over the piano. The track sends a message of open wound as Haux explains:

[su_quote]I remember walking into the living room that had vaulted ceilings and singing a few lines acapella. The reverb was breathtaking. I was sold. For the first few weeks after we moved in, though, we had no furniture. The only piece that was actually delivered on time was my century-old Bechstein piano. I loved it, but couldn’t help feeling vulnerable at times in that empty room. During those first few weeks, I wrote Ricochet. Recording it a few months later, I was reminded of the empty living room and the Bechstein. I remembered the woman who sold me the Bechstein saying that the piano had been in her family all of her life and that her grandmother had played it every morning growing up until her husband left her. She said that she never played it again after that. The family had the piano maintained, but it was never the same she said. That story hit me hard and was all that I could think about when I sang, “If I’m the rock, you’re the ricochet.[/su_quote]

Haux‘ sophomore EP and companion short film “Something To Remember” are out March 30 via Ultra.

The new EP will be called “Something To Remember” and will be released with a short-film on March 30 via Ultra Music. The first taste of the new EP comes with a poignant video that give us an idea of the narrative of the following short-film. About the video and track, Haux told us over email:

I tried my best to capture that haunting feeling of being completely alone with your thoughts; those relentless kind of thoughts that never leave you. A few years ago I was extremely active on social media and platform for music professionals Human Human. You can add bands/artists to your “discoveries” when you’re the first of the community and the band/artist is still very small. So four years ago I discovered duo GRRL PAL and their awesome pop songs like “NGHT“, “Dare” and “Amazon“. Dan from GRRL PAL is going solo now under the moniker Solo Dan (ha!) and released his first single “So Hey”!

That Poppy – I’m Poppy:

I don’t really like the music of That Poppy except for her bubblegum PC Music-ish poppy “I’m Poppy”. Best popper of this week!

Eyedress – High Street Drive By (feat. Jess Conelly & Ankhten Brown):

I’ve been a long time fan of the Filipino producer Eyedress. His previous music was more upbeat and happy in a way, but by deleting all that music from his Soundcloud/Spotify and replacing them by darker new songs, apparently he wants to break with the past. This one is good though! And reminds me of 18+.

Peaking Lights – Everytime I See The Light:

On June 16, Peaking Lights is releasing a new album “The Fifth State Of Consciousness”. This lo-fi 80’s pop song is just what I need to believe indie pop is what I love the most in the world. It’s simple, but endlessly lovely to listen to.

Justin Walter – It’s Not What You Think:

Are there any Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith fans or lovers of the more soundscape sound by Rival Consoles or Clark? This is your thingy!
