Being considered, by the band, as the most experimental track of their last album “Egonomy” out via Distiller Records, they get to portray an intense colorful message. Inspired by strong girl bands of the 00s like Destiny’s Child, TLC or even the Spice Girls, we check the entire track being performed by an ephemere pop quintet. About their inspirations, Holy Oysters stated:

[su_quote]The song is about a girl, but I was imagining a ’00s R&B girl band singer singing it. The message is from me to the girl in question, but when I wrote it I was really picturing Beyoncé saying to a man that she’s strong and doesn’t need him.[/su_quote]

For this video, the French psyche-pop quintet Holy Oysters decided to stay in the shadow and to highlight the work of Parisian rap collective and friends of the band, Alliance Crew.

Frontman Max Tribèche detailed:

[su_quote]We thought it would be fun to make people believe that our friends Alliance Crew actually are Holy Oysters. We all love hip-hop culture, and this was the occasion to bring it into our little world. The video is the first of a series inspired by the ’00s. A little bit like the Korn video for ‘Twisted Transistor.’[/su_quote]

Holy Oysters co-produced and directed the video with Guillaume Doubet. Watch ‘Just So You Know’ below.

Holy Oysters is a whole concept as each of the five members represent a community, a symbol and a higher power. By uniting the five symbols, Holy Oysters promotes a message of peace and eclecticism in a time of division and unrest.

Following up to their self-titled debut EP in 2016, Holy Oysters are ready to unveil their sophomore effort, ‘Egonomy’, which is highly inspired by 90s and 00s production. It was recorded between frontman Max Tribèche’s home and Greasy Records Studio in Paris. Taken from this new project, ‘Just So You Know’ brings a piece of California to Paris and pins the sun up in a the sky with a summery and uplifting production that shines, claps and snaps. They bring the groove and we come with the moves: French do it better, stream the proof below!
