Following up on “If the Car Beside You Moves Ahead” which was released in January, English singer-songwriter, musician and producer James Blake has shared a brand new track. The introspective “Don’t Miss It” is a collaboration with Mount Kimbie’s Dominic Maker and it comes with a lyric video that was made on an iPhone. Watch and listen below.

“I Need a Forest Fire” is just one of many heart-stopping songs on his album but it is perhaps the best in terms of vocals and harmonies that take you to another dimension.

“I Need a Forest Fire” combines two simply ghostly voices that seem so frail yet so pure. Like a lot of Blake’s and Iver’s music it has a simple, flowing electronic beat that plays a supporting role to their magical voices. Bon Iver takes the lead in the verses only for them both to combine and create harmonies trembling with emotion in the chorus. Blake’s third album is scattered with collaborations and this comes fresh after his cameo in Beyoncé’s “Lemonade“. Blake has said that he wanted to let more artists into his work and move away from being so isolated when creating his music. We are ecstatic he has decided to combine with such brilliant artists and has created some truly mesmerizing tracks.

The same night that she premiered her HBO special documentary “Lemonade”, Queen Bee decided to Beyoncé (a new verb meaning “dropping by surprise”) her new album. The LP, which is also named “Lemonade”, is now available via Columbia/Parkwood with a streaming exclusivity on Tidal. It features beautiful people such as Jack White (who is also a co-investor in TIDAL), James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd.

“Lemonade” is described as a visual album. The hour-long televised docu-style that was aired during a HBO special show featured all the songs with accompanying videos for each of them.

Beyoncé said about the whole project:

The film features appearances from Amandla Stenberg, Quvenzhané Wallis, Zendaya, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Mike Brown‘s mothers and of course her husband Jay-Z. The tennis champion Serena Williams is also present as she mentioned it yesterday on Twitter.

“Timeless”, as for his previous tracks, is an amazing electronic track keeping him in the god status. He gave a lot of informations about his upcoming album that we are all waiting for.

During his residency, he declared:

I said it a couple of months ago that I think it’s time to start recording an album because, you know, there’ve been requests. People have been asking if I’m going to record a record, so I did one. It turned out great. Quite long, but I’m really happy with it. It’s 18 tracks long. One of the tracks is 20 minutes long, as well.

Lyrically it felt really sweet tasting in my brain. Like a bright pink piece of cake filled with candy. Very rambunctious in a way. Living life just like a pie, sweeter in the seams, ya know? Life is sometimes rough but you can hit that sweet spot and I wanted to try and write that down. Fantasizing about a way to live and behave and hoping everyone is one board to join in the fruitful haze.

Are we going to complain about a CD of 18 tracks by James Blake ? About a track of 20 minutes ? Of course NOT.

A few weeks ago, James Blake announced his residency on BBC Radio 1 and this time, we used this platform to release a new track. “Modern Soul” is romantic, slow, growing inside of you. He shows once again his strong capacity of making you travel thanks to his voice, his way to create a climax and make sounds explode. We still don’t know what this track is announcing, so we can hope he will be releasing an album very soon !
