A year since the release of his mixtape, “Wav Theory”, the rapper has managed to rack up over 27 million plays on his “Heaven Only Knows” featuring Chance the Rapper. The mixtape was monumental for Towkio, with producing credits featuring himself, Kaytranada, The Social Experiment, Stephen Ponce and more.

Inspired by Kanye West and Lil Wayne, Towkio as an artist aims to be an innovator in the rap game. His new track Playin Fair is a wake-up call to let everyone know that he is “fresh outta coma” and is back with some hot music for us. Featuring a verse from Joey Purp, the duo rap about growing up in Chicago’s infamous streets, their newfound success and most importantly, their love for the Save Money rap collective.

With the album artwork inspired by manga series Slam Dunk, Towkio embodies this same term. High energy, unstoppable shots and lyricism in his verses – he ain’t playing fair.
