Indeed, the German producer added a disco touch to “Operator,” a track taken from her LP “Long Way Home.” The video, that was directed by Cherise Payne, is taking place in a transformist cabaret. Tuck your weenie, get fem and pretty, and let’s boogie woogie!

On the disco-infused “Operator (DJ Koze Edit)”, Låpsley dances with some drag queens and forgets that her crush never picks up the phone.

Låpsley shared today a video for the main track from the album “Love Is Blind”. The video is conceptualized by Låpsley herself and directed by Cherise Payne.

Låpsley decided to cover “Pillow Talk” by Zayn Malik a former member of the boys band One Direction.
The band managed to give a fresh and groovy atmosphere to this R&B track that actually makes it even more interesting!

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]A[/su_dropcap] few weeks after announcing her debut album “Long Way Home” and releasing the title track. One of HighClouds favorites 2015 rising artists shared a new song “Cliff” taken from the awaited album.

Låpsley approaches an electro side of her record. While “Love Is Blind” seemed more like a majestic pop. “Cliff” kind of gives us some vibes from her old stuff but also shows that the singer grew up and learned a lot since she started.

The magic of remix is that we don’t recognize the original track anymore giving it a whole new dimension and Sam Gellaitry hit in the right spot.

Låpsley‘s much awaited debut album should be out soon this year and for now you can catch her in her long European tour. She will be performing in Brussels on March 31 at Ancienne Belgique

Her debut album is now ready, it is called “Long Way Home” and is out very soon. To celebrate it, she released the first track taken from this album. Listen to the sumptuous “Love Is Blind” below.

Back in 2013/14, I discovered Låpsley, a young singer who used to secretly record songs in her bedroom and get some attention on the internet while her mom had no clue about it.
Her singles “Painter” and “Station” were some of the minimalist, beautiful songs released on her own recordings. Something that managed Låpsley to get the attention of XL Recordings.
She then released her EP “Understudy” last year, another minimalist pop gem EP with fabulous songs such as “Falling Short” & “Brownlow”, that I immediately had to add to my vinyl collection.
More recently the talented artist who was nominated for the BBC Sound of 2015 shared a double single “Hurt Me / Burn“, two singles that slightly expressed Låpsley‘s will to do something bigger than her previous minimalist record.
By the way, “Hurt Me” was the 79th track of our Top 100 of the best tracks of the year 2015.

The harmonious “Love Is Blind” and its beautiful instrumental really shows that Låplsey is ready for something bigger than what she offered before.

“Ocean Eyes” is an elegant ballad, that will catch your mind and let it wander, floating up to the ocean during 3 minutes 20. The minimalist electronic beats will some time to time bring you back to reality, but Billie‘s powerful voice isn’t ready to give up on you.

Billie‘s voice is already compared to the huge indie-pop star Lana Del Rey, her sensibility of sadness could also make us think of Lapsley. While her talent clearly hints to another young artist Aurora.
