A few month ago, Montreal’s trio Le Couleur released the deluxe edition of their album Concorde, which features a bunch of new remixes and live versions. Also featured in the first version of the album, released back in 2020, “Oiseaux Sauvages” addresses mental illness through a very personal scope. The dreamy track was inspired by a friend of the band, who started suffering from schizophrenia as a teenager. “Oiseaux Sauvages” has now a stylish visual treatment, courtesy of director Ariel Poupart. Reminiscent of the American indie movie aesthetic, the enigmatic video is a pure moment of autumnal poetry.

Montreal trio Le Couleur are readying the release of their new album Concorde. After the sensual and spleen-loaded title track, they have now returned with another track, “Silencio,” whose electro-tropical textures arrive just on time. With the upcoming summer that is going to be particularly uncertain, these infectious, sun-kissed hooks are more than welcome.

Although the track sounds very light-hearted and joyful, it actually depicts a very Manichean jousting. “‘Silenzio’ is about the death that lurks and holds us in a duel, already lost,” they explained. “It deals with the rivalry between life and death. The latter being put into image by a betrayal, and ending with the kiss of death (il bacio della morte). She wins again and we witness her executions.”

A guilty pleasure this week is served by our New Zealand sweethearts Yumi Zouma and their Oasis cover of “Champagne Supernova”. We supported Jessie Early in the past and here is her new track “Body Can’t Hold”, taken from her upcoming debut EP “Wild Honey”.
