[su_dropcap style=”simple”]W[/su_dropcap]hoa have I got a song for YOU. Can’t believe I haven’t heard about Lily Elise before, but after hearing her music, I won’t be forgetting her.

A little bit about Lily Elise: so she’s a completely independent alt-pop artist from the Bay Area over in sunny California. She’s impressively featured on tracks by Felix Cartal, Dillon Francis, and Twin Shadow over the past few years. Not gonna lie, her 2014 feature on Felix Cartal’s “Let It Go” is hella catchy. Elise’s previous EP “OLIVER” told the story of a failed relationship. Currently, Elise has been on tour singing duets with Don Henley, who founded your favorite 70s band The Eagles.

Earlier this month, Lily Elise gave listeners a sultry new single called “Let Me Down” featuring MADE IN LA.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/267938782″ params=”auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”450″ iframe=”true” /]
This song is straight cool blue fire. Elise’s delicate vocals seem both fragile and resilient in the face of a confusing relationship, as described in the song. A snappy beat, and synthy strings help her voice especially stand out, giving center stage to the lyrics.

On the single, Elise had to say:

[su_quote]”Let Me Down” is about wishing a dude would stop stringing me along and just cut it off. If guys would simply let me know when they weren’t feeling it, I wouldn’t have to think about them anymore or wonder what I did wrong and life would be breezy.[/su_quote]

The track also includes MADE IN LA, a multi-racial, mixed-genre duo made up of Marlon McClain II and Cassio Lopes, both from Los Angeles. Combined with Elise’s voice, the harmonies of all three voices give the song a fully textured, complete sound. And overall, “Let Me Down” is a brilliant slow jam that is both smart and emotional, all patterned over a sexy, minimalistic R&B style of production.

As always, it is incredibly important for us at HighClouds to support independent artists. We love Lily Elise, and to show your love for her as well, make sure to check her out via SoundCloud, Twitter, and Facebook <3
