Belave – Indigo, Streams, Lash (Album Stream)

Matias Calderon — Fri, 18 Mar 2016 17:57:00 +0000

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]W[/su_dropcap]e didn’t even have the time to be sad about Majical Cloudz‘ announcement of them breaking-up that Devon Welsh is already releasing an entire album with his duo Belave, his project with former Majical Cloudz member Matthew E. Duffy. Listen here to their album “Indigo, Streams, Lash”

Indigo, Streams, Lash by Belave

This album is the follow-up of “Darlet on the Brush” released in 2014. With 5 tracks, Devon Welsh is not wasting any time, closing the door of Majical Cloudz who played their last concert a week ago in Montreal. Matthew E. Duffy is credited for the vocals and words, and Devon Welsh for the music.

About this album, Devon Welsh wrote in a new website :

[su_quote] Me and Matthew E. Duffy are releasing another Belave album today (which is the music project we do together). The saxophone all over the album is by Austin Milne. It was written and recorded in chunks over the last year and a half, started in Detroit, continued in Montreal, and finished with remote contributions from Austin in London.
I think with this project we are always trying to create our own world and make something that we have never heard before. It’s definitely a science experiment, and I think we are hoping for new discoveries.[/su_quote]

We can’t wait to listen more music from Devon and we are relieved after this declarations over Twitter that you can see below. We’ll keep you for sure posted about this second album

I will be releasing music online as much as I can this year, my own music and also collaborations. A second Belave album is coming next week

Canadian electronic and indie pop band Majical Cloudz continues to support its third album “Are You Alone?”, which was released a month before via Matador. They already released two videos for the singles “Silver Car Crash” and “Downtown”. Here is a new one for “Game Show”.

The performance of the video was captured at the National Sawdust in Brooklyn in October 2015. The black and white video was directed by Bill Kirstein, who worked several times with Beyoncé.

She-Devils – Come

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]M[/su_dropcap]ontreal based duo She-Devils released their debut track “Come” mixing rockabilly with 90s shoegaze and 60s French pop. Directed by the band themselves, the video will keep you mesmerized

[su_youtube url=”http://youtu.be/yiGS1R7fFpY”]

The duo is formed by Audrey Ann and Kyle Jukka and both have the passion for vintage. As they say in their statement :

[su_quote]Visually Kyle really likes 90s TV and I’m more into 50s glamour, I’d say that’s what went into this video. We shot it in my bedroom with the help of a couple friends (Neil Corcoran, Devon Welsh.) It was simple and very fun and I think it shows. Both of us love cinema and are acutely affected by colours. It was our first time making a music video. It feels really good to make something visual that is in harmony with our music.[/su_quote]

This is the first track taken from their upcoming EP due to be released on January 16 and we will keep you posted for any more news. You can for now catch them live in the following places :
