Brooke Candy is a name that isn’t mentioned enough when it comes to alternative voices in pop music. After releasing her debut album on RCA Records, she’s back at it as an independent artist. And, like with Robyn, that independence is conducive to a creative state of mind that fits her so well; an opinion also shared by Mykki Blanco. On this new offering, “My Sex”, the Californian queer and feminist artist connects with Mykki, as well as with Pussy Riot and MNDR. The wild, sex-positive anthem comes with an amazing 3D-animated video, which was directed by Swedish artist Josefin Jonsson, aka Pastelae. Musically, the tune is just as wild and free as the visuals on the screen, but with a sweet pop undercurrent.

SSION is the moniker of queer pop artist and painter Cody Critcheloe. Taken from his recent album “O” and featuring Ian Isiah, MNDR and Jametatone, the epic hidden track “Heaven Is My Thing Again” has just received a visual treatment. As usual, the video spreads a certain madness, a nostalgia of the 90s and the delightful extravagance of an artist who kind of makes fun of this obligation to celebrate queerness during the annual PRIDE month. About the video, SSION stated:

MNDR, the experimental dance pop moniker of Amanda Warner, is back with a new single. “Gravity” is the first release since “Faster Horses” back in 2013. The summer-tinged and bouncy synth-pop track was produced by Hudson Mohawke. About the single, she detailed to The Fader:

[su_quote]I’ve been lucky over the past few years to have so many amazing and talented people in my orbit, many of which have also secretly been working on new MNDR songs with me. I’ve been a fan of Hudson Mohawke since “Butter,” and we met while I was touring with Mark Ronson. He played me a crazy track he had started and we ended up writing “Gravity” with another producer friend John Hill and my long time collaborator PeterWade. Hudmo’s production is psychedelic for me in the way that it has tons of melodic and rhythmic details that make me wanna listen over and over again. A lot of that detail made it into “Gravity.”[/su_quote]
