Following up to 2016’s single “RUNNERUP”, Doldrums recently shared a new track and video. “Heater”, which sounds like an acid trip, will be featured on their third LP ‘ESC’.

OK, Doldrums are not the tidiest band in the world but there’s something infectious and inspiring about their -mess- music. Actually, it sounds like a whole spirit that would hover over Montreal and inspire several artists, including Grimes. On “Heater”, Doldrums sings ‘I’m a people person, are you?’ on a dramatic, frenzy, epic acid soundtrack. There’s a will of independance and of being free that go further than their unconventional sound. It sounds raw and honest.

[su_spacer]

The ‘homemade’ video, which was shot by Jordan Minkoff, also features appearances from Errhead, CCB and Petra Glynt. About the track, the artist detailed:

[su_quote]This track came out of the middle of winter at the Torn Curtain, where I holed up to record the new album. I also want to officially announce that the new record Esc is coming out June 30, and I’m going to be putting the record out on my own label [/su_quote]

Doldrums also added to The Fader:

[su_quote]”Heater” is our TV debut, with me, Petra Glynt and CCB ripping it up on a set inspired by sketchy late night talk shows – ESC TV,[…] This shows what a couple of friends can make in a day of guru-fueled DIY mayhem. More soon, stay tuned xo _errhead.[/su_quote]

[su_youtube_advanced url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Azo8LaGIrHE”]

The Montreal-based electronic project headed by Airick Asher Woodhead, recorded this new 10-track album ‘ESC’ after a long tour for their second LP ‘The Air Conditioned Nightmare’ (Sub Pop). You can listen to the previously released single “RUNNERUP” below.

‘Esc’ will be independently released on June 30 and is already available for pre-order here.

Montreal based duo Beat Market shared recently their second track “See What I Mean” taken from their upcoming album “Sun

Montreal based duo Beat Market shared recently their second track “See What I Mean” taken from their upcoming album “Sun Machine” to be released on November 11th. After collaborating with Malika for their first release “Doors”, now they shared their alliance with Aiza where her flow marries perfectly the dancefloor shaped instrumental.

Reminding the best period of Azealia Banks with a more pop vision, Beat Market are clearly trying to get a more radio friendly banger to touch the masses. The song is short and efficient, so there is no doubt in the appealing force of the track, creating something that we will listen in every club very soon!

[su_spacer][soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/282958642″ params=”auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”450″ iframe=”true” /][su_spacer]

As their goal is to bring electronic music to a live setting where they could express themselves as true musicians, we can’t wait to see what the duo is preparing for us. In their upcoming album “Sun Machine”, you will find some collaborations with French Horn Rebellion’s vocalist Robert Perlick Molinari and fellow Montreal icon APigeon. For now, you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud. You can also listen to their first track with Malika “Doors” below.

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]W[/su_dropcap]e’ve been in love with the sound of the Montreal based duo She-Devils after the release of their debut track “Come. Now they have shared a new track “Where There’s No One” announcing their first EP

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/231899652″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
The 70’s have never been this sublimed, since the duo is incredibly inspired by sounds of French artists like Serge Gainsbourg or Sylvie Vartan.

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]M[/su_dropcap]ontreal based duo She-Devils released their debut track “Come” mixing rockabilly with 90s shoegaze and 60s French pop. Directed by the band themselves, the video will keep you mesmerized

[su_youtube url=”http://youtu.be/yiGS1R7fFpY”]

The duo is formed by Audrey Ann and Kyle Jukka and both have the passion for vintage. As they say in their statement :

[su_quote]Visually Kyle really likes 90s TV and I’m more into 50s glamour, I’d say that’s what went into this video. We shot it in my bedroom with the help of a couple friends (Neil Corcoran, Devon Welsh.) It was simple and very fun and I think it shows. Both of us love cinema and are acutely affected by colours. It was our first time making a music video. It feels really good to make something visual that is in harmony with our music.[/su_quote]

This is the first track taken from their upcoming EP due to be released on January 16 and we will keep you posted for any more news. You can for now catch them live in the following places :

Nov 18th, Montreal QC, Piccolo Rialto
Nov 20th, Montreal QC, Casa Del Popolo
Jan 15th, Toronto, The Garrison (from here with Majical Cloudz)
Jan 16th, Detroit, UFO Factory
Jan 18th, Chicago, Schubas
Jan 19th, Brooklyn, Music Hall of Williamsburg
