Sofia Kourtesis shares her debut DJ Kicks Mix

Electronic producer Sofia Kourtesis has kicked off the DJ Kicks mix series once again with a beautiful set that takes listeners on a journey from Peru to Berlin. The mix features 21 tracks that are about the different sounds and emotions that Kourtesis’ carries with her and are a celebration of her musical journey across the world.

“This series has meant the world to me ever since I moved to Berlin and really began DJing,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “So being invited to contribute feels surreal in the best way. The mix is a celebration of the music that shaped me, tracing a journey from Peru to Berlin and through all the cities I’ve been lucky enough to play along the way.”

The tracks transition from dance-fueled peaks to softer, personal moments of introspection for Kourtesis, shaped by the grief she felt after losing her mother. The mix includes four exclusive tracks that Kourtesis created herself including “It’s You,” “Texas Changing,” “A Brief Look In Your Eyes” and “Los Poemas No Siempre Riman (DJ-Kicks),” which she recorded with Afro-Peruvian group Novalima. Other music from talented producers that we at HighClouds love are also featured on the mix including Jon Hopkins, Daphni (Cariobu), Myd, Axel Boman, Avalon Emerson, Nick León, and many others. New signees to Pain Surprises Records, French duo UTO shared earlier this year a twisted and animal single: ‘The Beast’. There’s now a new remix signed by Myd out there!

UTO is a duo in the studios but also in the real life. Emile and Neysa were signed to Pain Surprises, home of Jacques, and their music definitely found the right hosts as it is creative and difficult to pin down. “The Beast” is a different, fetishist, and addictive offering. It also comes with a video which was directed by a mysterious guy.

“The Beast” is featured on UTO‘s debut EP “Shelter For The Broken” which was released on October 10 via Pain Surprises.

Myd releases 3-track EP via Ed Banger, shares “All Inclusive” video

French Touch goes indie with the release of Club Cheval‘s member Myd new 3-track EP via Ed Banger. There’s even a video for the title track “All Inclusive” and it is so much fun.

Following up to the single “The Sun”, Quentin Lepoutre aka Myd of Club Cheval recently shared his 3-track “All Inclusive” EP via Ed Banger. The EP is like a summery flirt, in between cool indie music and classy house music. The title track, “All Inclusive”, got a video treatment and the result is really fun. Watch it below.
