After three years of gestation, Nicole Schneit, aka Air Waves, is about to drop their new album The Dance. So far, we’ve heard the amazing title track – already in our Best Tracks of 2022 playlist – as well as “Wait,” two offerings that use spacious and simple arrangements to accompany gripping melodies that convey strong emotions. Following the same formula, the third single off the record, “Alien,” features the acclaimed singer-songwriter and master arranger Cass McCombs.

“Alien is a love song, about feeling safe with someone,” the artist stated. “The kids I work with say “go off king” so thought to use that sentiment. I was ecstatic Cass wanted to sing on this one, as I’m a big fan of his songwriting and his voice works so well with the darkness of the tune.”
