Montreal’s producer Robert Robert is readying the release of his new 5-track EP, set to be a coming of age sound journey. One year after “Welcome To Finetown” EP, the artist has observed and learned about his entourage, tried to look for answers and his thoughts are now translated into lyrics and vocal performances, as heard in the first mystical offering “Nobody Breaches Our Stasis“. Robert Robert who is known for his melancholic mist and deep bass has now enriched his music equation with a dose of self-reflection and wisdom.

One of his new songs, “The Person Who Knows”, focuses on how people deal with loss of meaning and anxiety in our increasingly connected world. Ahead of the release of his EP, Robert Robert is premiering today an intriguing live visual performance for the track as well as an accompanying statement:

One year after the release of his EP “Welcome To Finetown”, Montréal’s Robert Robert is readying the release of his new EP “How To Save Water”, “an instruction manual to facilitate water recovery in a life that tends to leak” in his own words. On his coming-of-age new track “Nobody Breaches Our Stasis”, the producer sings about this personal growth, the balance between club life and, as he metaphorically encapsulates it, following streetlights like a moth. This dichotomy between these two visions of life is palpable in the haunting synth-pop soundscapes which sound both graceful and tormented. Tune in below.

“Sirens” is the first track off of UNNO‘s “Silence EP” (out via French label Nowadays Records) and its of the exceptional, eclectic sort. The most intriguing part of “Sirens” is its fascinating exploration of the different textures of the synths that listeners will be able to hear in the track. Starting with the bouncing, slightly off-key synth that opens the track to the several passages the track goes through with the vocals, “Sirens” whisks listeners  away in a storm of trip-hop beats and an unconventional melody. The structure of the song is unpredictable, and resultantly, will leave listeners wondering what will happen with every passing second.
