[su_dropcap style=”simple”]E[/su_dropcap]very Wednesday, we publish an article about an artist from Belgium that we should be proud of. This week, our calendar was totally upset with the terrible attacks that happened in Brussels. That is why we chose to highlight an Antwerp-based artist whose pop music is delivered in a heartening and electronic cocoon. Oliver Symons is only 22 but has already shown for more than a year his talent in solo through his musical project Warhola. The singer, songwriter and producer, who is also a member of the Belgian band Bazart, just released his debut “Aura EP”: a good opportunity to have a look at his musical universe.

What is particularly interesting in Warhola’s music is that the main instrumantals are filled with specific and precise sounds that accurately support the whole track and the chant of the artist. This precision is somewhat reminiscent of James Blake‘s productions, that can be likened to sterling work. As he wrote us:

[su_quote]when I write a song I try to create the production at the same time because I feel that in my music the sound and the songs are the two most important things and I want to have the feeling that they match perfectly from the start. [/su_quote]

On his last single “Lady”, that was premiered via Complex, the scene takes place at night and describes a sensual dance between two people. Warhola delivers a dramatic synth-pop track that flirts with tension, love and emotion and all this waltz continues until the closing climax. The production is excellent and the chorus is simply infectious.

One year ago, the artist shared a promising track that was already a good omen for his musical career: “Unravel”. Both tracks are taken from his debut “Aura EP” that is now available and that you can discover below:
