"To The Sky" comes from Sd-3, the final part of Loukeman’s trilogy, out April 24 via September Recordings.

Beyond collaborating with artists like A$AP Rocky and PinkPantheress, Toronto-based artist Loukeman has made a name for himself with dreamy, detail-rich electronic releases. Over the past few years, he’s also linked up with rising names like Brat Star, Amore, and Jump Source, while sharing stages and creative energy with Fred Again… It’s this mix of collaboration and a clear personal vision that’s brought him further into the spotlight.

Now, Loukeman is ready to close a chapter with the announcement of his upcoming album Sd-3, out April 24 via September Recordings. The record marks the final part of a trilogy that began five years ago, following Sd-1 and Sd-2. Alongside the news, he shares a new single, “To The Sky”, a track that feels both weightless and deeply grounded in his creative circle. Co-produced with Patrick Holland, the song transforms fragments of Georgia Hammer’s voice into something fluid and atmospheric, all carried by soft beats and airy textures.

“To The Sky” follows earlier previews “Elktorn” and “All I Could Think Of”, which are also featured of this record shaped by movement, memory, and connection. As Loukeman explains, “I was traveling a lot this year, a little too much, really. And I struggled to make music traveling, not even gear-wise, just in terms of routine and life. Some music came from other sessions, but I’d always go home to finish them.” That sense of returning, both physically and creatively, runs through the project, with friends and hometown influences playing a central role in the process. Watch the “To The Sky” video, directed by Marco Lee and shot at a local ice rink, below.

“Shattered” featuring Helena Deland and Ross Meen, as well as “Affect” featuring Loukeman, are taking from Jump Source's debut album Fold, out April 30 via NAFF Recordings.

There is something quietly thrilling about watching two producers who have already shaped so much of a scene step fully into their own spotlight. Montréal duo Jump Source, made up of Patrick Holland and Francis Latreille, have indeed been around for over a decade. Between Holland’s solo work and Latreille’s output as priori, plus their production credits for artists like James K and Tiga, they have become trusted architects of forward thinking electronic sounds. Now, after a run of notable EPs, they are ready to unveil their debut full length album, Fold, via NAFF Recordings.

According to the press release, Fold feels like a statement. It leans into the expansive spirit of early 2000s electronic albums while embracing a fearless pop sensibility where anything can happen. Dancefloor euphoria sits next to tender folktronic moments and even a sharp left turn into rap. The guest list is just as wide ranging and exciting. The always excellent Helena Deland appears more than once, alongside CFCF, billy woods, POiSON GiRL FRiEND, BEA1991, Deaton Chris Anthony, Harmony Index and Loukeman. Many of these artists are familiar names to us, so we’re even more curious.

To introduce the album, Jump Source are sharing a lead double single that captures this duality perfectly. “Shattered,” featuring Helena Deland and Ross Meen, glides forward with a cool, understated pulse, Deland’s vocal floating through the haze with precision and intimacy. On the flip side, “Affect” with Loukeman leans into warm, quietly radiant house textures. The track feels both introspective and ready for the dancefloor, a combo of we particularly love. Both tracks come with a visualizer that you can watch below.

james K's new album, Friend, is out September 5 via AD 93.

New York artist james K is gearing up to release her new album Friend, and so far, it’s sounding like an intimate, playful, and deeply textured project. We’ve already heard a few tracks off of the project, including “Play,” a high-energy track that set a lively tone. Now, she’s followed it up with something moodier, “Doom Bikini,” a track that leans into dreamy electronics and a kind of hazy, sun-drenched nostalgia. And there’s even a “doom bikini towel friend” for sale.

“Doom Bikini” unfolds like a sticky summer daydream. james K describes it as “a sun-greased slinky ballad about being hard and soft on myself,” one that she didn’t quite know what to do with at first. Originally built on “boring ‘shoegazey’ guitars,” the song eventually found its form through layers of doo-wop-inspired vocal loops, surfy textures, “gwen-lite” vocal flourishes, and a sweet swirl of G-funk. The result is a track that plays with time, memory, and self-perception — or as she puts it: “Both horizon lines feel interchangeable, pluck-able like guitar strings.” And talking about friends, she actually co-produced it with Patrick Holland and Priori.
In case you live on another planet, Beyoncé‘s Renaissance is officially out, but there were some other notable releases this week.
Melancholia and euphoria are usually two antagonistic moods but nothing is more haunting than when they melt into each other. This is the direction taken by Dawn to Dawn (Adam Ohr, Patrick Lee & Tess Roby) on their ethereal yet pulsating new single, “Stereo,” which sits halfway between lo-fi electronic à la Kedr Livanskiy and dreamy Montreal pop. Evoking the rawness of brutalist architecture, the carefree nature of a rave at sunrise, or again the hedonism of a nocturnal trip with your besties, the celestial offering captures, in their own words, “the sound of summer: sweltering nights, afterparties and playful romance.”

Alongside “Stereo,” the Montreal trio have now officially announced their debut album, Postcards From The Sun To The Moon, which was mixed by Patrick Holland and Pierre Guerineau. It features the previously released singles “Meridian,” “Care,” and “A Colour Named By You” and will be released via Tess Roby’s newly launched label, SSURROUNDSS.

Also known under the electronic and ambient moniker Project Pablo, Montreal’s Patrick Holland reintroduces himself on his new album You’re The Boss. On his first “guitar-driven” project, the musician and producer explores the unnamed, pseudo-paranormal “other” through an upbeat indie pop lens. The record, which features vocal contributions from the likes of Jane Penny, David Carriere, and Marta Cikojevic [from TOPS], is introduced by “Sinister Bell.” Listen and pre-order below.

In case you live on another planet, Montreal indie-pop darlings TOPS recently shared a new album, I Feel Alive, which features a string of solar, radiant tracks. One of them, “Colder & Closer,” has just been remixed by some very cool artists: Cecile Believe and Patrick Holland. While the SOPHIE collaborator turned it into a languid PC music-like dreamscape, the producer formerly known as Project Pablo gave it an ethereal, club-ready lifting.

“Make It Happen” is taken from Forever‘s new EP, Close To The Flame, to be released February 14 via independent

“Make It Happen” is taken from Forever‘s new EP, Close To The Flame, to be released February 14 via independent record label Cascine.

Born on a remote island in Canada and now based in Montreal, June Moon, aka Forever, grabbed our attention back in 2017 with the ethereal and bittersweet singles “Falling” and “Stolen Car”. The artist, who is also the co-founder of the feminist art collective Girls Club, will release a new EP on Valentine’s Day. Paradoxically, the 6-track project was created after a difficult heartbreak.

“I was in a relationship that was killing me, and I had to plan an escape to save my life,” June explains. “The record is haunted by a ghost. I sing about her murder on the first track, ‘Blur,’ but then she turns into a angel on the last song ‘Adonis.’ I channeled her one night when I was writing because I was so scared to talk about what happened to me; I didn’t know how to tell my story. She came to me and told me to use her story as a channel for my own pain. This release is dedicated to her.”

Close To The Flame was crafted with regular collaborators Michael Brock (Mind Bath) and Patrick Holland (Project Pablo), as well as with her Montreal fellas Ouri, Cecile Believe, and David Carriere of TOPS. The first single, “Make It Happen,” also features a guest verse by Just John. Watch the video and pre-order the EP via Bancdcamp below.
