Originally, her family is from the Philippines. As such, her music got inspired by the sea, its darkness and completeness. About the track, the artist explained:

[su_quote]

“Blue Whale” is inspired and influenced by different cultures and nature. My ancestors and relatives are a fisherfolk living on the oceans for generations. We’ve been feeding and depending on it for so long now and “Blue Whale” is my way to show appreciation of the ocean.

We were supposed to be on vacation, but for our friends Majik, we can do an exception. As a way to say goodbye to 2016, the London-based duo shared a new track called “Friends (Under The influence)”

The duo brings a new pop track tainted with electronic touches, reminding us why we love them so much. Reminding us their previous tracks “Real” and “Closer,” 2017 should be their year.

A few weeks ago, we met the duo and we are preparing something together. We can’t tell you more, but stayed tune!

French band Yelle have always been one of our personal favorite, thanks to their catchy pop and very fun visuals. A year after their last video, they are back with “Ici & Maintenant (Here & Now)” where they explore the beauty of the everyday life.

Taking place in a random suburb, you get to follow Julie Budet‘s (the singer) pretty normal life, alongside comedian Nathan Barnatt who was already behind the video of the remix by Madeon for “Que Veux Tu”. While the singer is enjoying her life taking coffee, exercising or doing normal chores, the comedian enjoys being a mess, doing dance moves around her.

About the track, Yelle explained:

[su_quote]

After 3 albums and crazy intense touring over the world, we felt we needed to pause, not looking at the past or being in loops about what is next all the time, no, instead we want to be connected to the present. Here and Now. That’s exactly the idea behind the song. that’s our state of mind. Being simply and fully in the moment.

The video reflects that, it’s very here & now, super extra normal! We made it with our friend Nathan Barnatt who we met a few years ago after he’d done a ‘fan’ video of our “Que Veux tu” song remixed by Madeon.

Normcore to the four on the floor!

[/su_quote]

Los Angeles-based band Satchmode announced the release of their debut album “Love Hz” due to be released on February, 7. To celebrate it, they decided to share their first single “Happiness.”

Definitely fresh, the track is really delivering what we are waiting for this cold weather. High pitch vocals and a 80s-inspired synths are also giving the charming touch that any pop song should have. Two years after he started writing the album, lead singer Gabe Donnay gave life to the album to the release, creating a lot of excitement throughout 2016 thanks to their previously unveiled songs like “Further Away,” “State Of Mind” and “Undertow.”

Duo San Scout are back with a brand new track called “In/Balance” following the release of their “EP1” earlier this year. For the release of the new song, they also shared a video game where you can create your own San Scout-style song.

Their first EP captured a lot of attention thanks to their emotional approach of pop music, touching many hearts around the world. Their production is as close to emotions, alongside some exceptional song-writing. With this new track, they play with the dual conflict between chaos and control and how our lives are depending on those feelings.

With the track, San Scout decided to also share their magic, thanks to a video game where you can produce your own sounds thanks to the individual sounds of “In/Balance”, giving you the opportunity to share your own bootleg. By simply typing words, you get your own track. To do so, you can click here, to visit their website and play with their sounds. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud.

After collaborating with Tiesto and Sam Feldt, Bright Sparks have finally come out of the dark with their catchy electro-pop

After collaborating with Tiesto and Sam Feldt, Bright Sparks have finally come out of the dark with their catchy electro-pop new track “Wildfire.”

Produced by one of our personal favorite artists Lxury, there was no doubt about the pop banger that this would be. He has worked with successful band Years & Years, Feist, and more recently with LA Priest with their collaboration “Show.” “Wilfire” is an aggressively catchy song, with a strong chorus reminding much of the British pop songs that stick in your heads forever. The duo took some time to answer to our questions about their previous collaborations, working with Lxury and the EP that should be released in 2017.

Highclouds: Can you introduce yourself to our readers that don’t know you yet?

We are a new duo that’s spent the last few years in the shadows, writing songs for other artists and DJs. Now we’re getting ready to release some of our own songs into the world.

You have made a lot of collaborations. Can you explain your musical career and what are your influences?

We travelled a lot around Europe, writing songs with some amazing producers and DJs. Now we’re pretty close friends with a lot of them. We even collaborate on songs via whatsapp.

We have a varied taste in music, which comes from collaborating with so many people from different genres. Some of our favourite artists are bands like 1975, Chvrches, Bon Iver, and we also have an appreciation for the commercial side of pop music.

“He is a genius. He has such a distinctive production style” – Bright Sparks about working with Lxury.

How would you describe your music?

We’ve been described as making “organic dance pop”. Something between Years & Years and Feist.

What can you tell us about your track “Wildfire”?

“Wildfire” is actually quite a sad song, despite it sounding fairly upbeat. It’s about rejection – you’ve got that ‘Wildfire’ running in your blood for someone, but they’re always playing hard-to-get and throwing obstacle into the mix.

This track was produced by Lxury. How was it working with him?

He is a genius. He has such a distinctive production style, it was a lot of fun collaborating finding a new sound that worked for both of us.

What can you tell us about Bright Sparks first EP?

It’s been a long time in the making, we’re very excited to finally be releasing it out into the world. It’s a collection of 4 songs which are very personal to us as a band. There’s something everyone will be able to relate to.

Do you have any song to recommend us right now?

We’ve had “Sexual” by Neiked on repeat for weeks now.

Zimbabwe-born, London-based musician Rationale shared the second track from his upcoming EP set to be released next year. After the release of “Prodigal Son,” he shared “Vessels.”

In this track, you can check his more soulful voice marrying perfectly an electro-pop beat. About the track, Rationale explained:

[su_quote]

The lyrics for “Vessels” were written thousands of miles up in the sky on my way to LA. I was missing home and the people I care about and contemplating the time i’d spent away from them all year. The lyrics pretty much wrote themselves, and the production is a joint [work] between me and my friend Bastian Langebaek

The London-based trio KYOTI have capped up a modest year with the release of a new single titled “Chimera”. After the debut single “Cave In” was released in May, the group followed up with “Curved Edge, Straight Line,” then by “Acceptably Sane” and the trajectory has shown the three-piece, made up of Benji Huntrods, David Mabbott and Ed Burgon, ability to delve deeper into their -identifiable style.

Kyoti‘s track draws from John Grant’s intelligent lyrical prowess fused with the minimalist textures associated with electro producers such as SOHN, James Blake and Kavinsky. The group’s lead singer explained:

“Chimera” is about moving past the loss of a loved one, and that strange internal conflict you feel at times of great change.
