QTY – World Breaker

Matias Calderon — Fri, 09 Dec 2016 18:15:13 +0000

New York newcomers QTY (Dan Lardner and Alex Niemetz) have released a followup single “World Breaker” to their debut track “Rodeo”. If the first attempt was cool and all glammed up, “World Breaker” take it up some notches higher featuring a more soft-pedalled tune, a call and response with vocals giving more proof of the duo’s contrasting yet complimenting styles.

Speaking of the song, the group explained:

“World Breaker” is an expressive song sung through circumstantial stories and situations. The song conveys that and includes all the degradation and hardships alongside all the beauty and love that follow you when you’ve got a deep and meaningful relationship like ours.

The song will be released on December 16 via Dirty Records. You can follow QTY on Twitter, Facebook and Soundcloud.

Smoke Season shared classy new video for “Psycho Killer”

Matias Calderon — Mon, 24 Oct 2016 14:23:18 +0000

Covering the iconic Talking Heads is not an easy task, and somehow, L.A. based duo Smoke Season managed to put something incredibly new and smoking hot with their track “Psycho Killer”

Taking it from a place of full 80’s rock to a sensual electronic vibe was very simple to the duo. The vocals are completely hypnotizing, the lyrics get a complete other lecture and it is seriously hard to recognize the original version, until the moment of the famous “VA VA VA VA VA VA VA VA VA VA” comes that any fan of Talking Heads knows.

When it comes to the video, the sensuality of the track was taken to another level, where black & white is used to its best to recreate the late 80’s – early 90’s videos. If you want to watch the video, you can click on here. To follow them, you can go over Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud.

Premiered on Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 radio show, the track won everyone’s heart thanks to the catchy indie pop essence, reminding the sound of Empire Of The Sun, and its breezy vibes. Produced by Chad Copelin who is behind some productions of Sufjan Stevens and Third Eye Blind, “Manicure” is perfect for this already cold autumn.

Matias Calderon — Tue, 20 Oct 2015 12:29:07 +0000

[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”1″]W[/su_dropcap]e were talking about Londoner band Zola Blood this summer thanks to their amazing track “Play Out” and now they are back with a new track “Pieces Of The Day”

This song sounds darker than the previous track, showing a new side of the band. Mixing electronics beats with a more melancholic sound, Zola Blood are showing a more mature sound. You can already pre-order their debut album, which is for now a work in progress, if you click here. We cannot wait !
