Rosie Lowe announces sophomore album with enthralling “Birdsong”

Rosie Lowe‘s sophomore album YU is due out May 10 on Wolf Tone / Caroline International.

Three years after her remarkable debut album Control, singer-songwriter Rosie Lowe is introducing us to the universe of her new full-length project. According to Lowe, YU is a record that “is about other. I wanted to write about my experience of sharing my life with another as a lover, friend and partner”.

Taken from the 13-track project, here’s the first single “Birdsong” which features an impressive casting of backing vocalists with the likes of Jamie Woon, Jamie Lidell, Jordan Rakei and Kwabs. Reminescent of D’Angelo‘s masterpiece Black Messiah, the flawless production is courtesy of Dave Okumu. “Birdsong” also comes with a Jovan Todorovic-directed video. To make the wait even worse, Rosie Lowe just shared a new track called “So Human” and the least we can say is that her release is going to for sure become one of the best albums of 2016

With “So Human”, Rosie Lowe is exploring once again her strong soul vibe mixed with a very modern electronic touch. She is clearly amazingly inspired by Sade since it sounds a lot like a 2016 version of “Smooth Operator”. After many singles, our expectations about her debut album are going just even higher.

Rosie Lowe is a proud feminist and tells it with “Woman”. The song encourages women to be themselves with their strengths and weaknesses.
We’re used with Rosie to have appealing videos and she did not fail once again. “Woman” is simple but utterly graceful and expresses many sides of the beauty of the woman.

“Woman” is taken from Rosie Lowe‘s upcoming debut album “Control” out on the 19th of February. We also hope that her single “Worry Bout Us” will also be included in the album.

This album is going to be called “Control” and is due to be released on February 19. Here is her statement about it and the artwork below :

“Woman” follows the same pattern as we could already noticed in her previous work : the incredibly soulful voice of Rosie alongside a nice R&B production by Lowe herself with Dave Okumu. We are excited to see her live very soon since she has announced some new dates in Europe this winter.

You might notice that this version is not exactly the version is turning in our radio for some time now and the explanation is that Rosie used the album version of the song for this video.
