How to describe “Same”? First, we would say that it is layered with pitch-tuned vocal chops and soft trippy sounds in the back. Then, we would mention the water drops and distant bells. Moglii drops in an eclectic family of instruments and samples to complement Novaa’s sweet voice.

Moglii‘s “Same” drowns your head in a purple haze of mystery and awe, only to be tranced by Novaa’s hypnotic voice.

Moglii is a 23 yr-old producer, singer and jazz pianist. He is also a part of the Moglebaum, a live band that also makes “organic electronic” music. Their style is an experience where indie meets electronic.

Novaa is a talented young singer that also creates a name for herself in fashion and art. She is beautiful. She is stylistically attentive and emits a vibe akin to a European hipster. That is why she coutures pink better than anyone (on a Wednesday). For sure, she has a weird personality and carries an unconventional attitude that we just cannot get enough of!

Brooklyn-based musician Julianna Barwick recently released a new track off her upcoming third LP “Will”, that will be out on May 6 via Dead Oceans. This new single, “Same”, which features the artist Mas Ysa, is a harmonious and delicate chord progression that, for sure, won’t let you unmoved.

“Same” is different than her previous single “Nebula” which was more synthetic and haunting. Here, the symbiosis that is reached by the two artists’ voices conveys some organic, peaceful and comforting feelings.

In a press release, Julianna Barwick talked about Mas Ysa and her reasons to collaborate with this artist, who was born in Montreal and whose real name is actually Thomas Arsenault:

Barwick will be part of Le Botanique‘s “Les Nuits 2016” (#Nuits2016), a series of concerts which opens the festivals season here in Belgium. We really hope that Mas Ysa will be on stage with her.
