French girls do it better! Bordeaux-based producer Nídia Minaj is a 19-year-old talent whose stage name is obviously inspired by her favorite rapper Nicki Minaj. Her sounds are labeled as Kuduro and Afro House dance music and thus, easily remind bands such as Buraka Som Sistema or Skip&Die. Her last track “Puro Tarraxo” is simply an I-Bring-Your-Ass-To-The-Floor-And-Make-It-Shake Afro-electro banger!

The talented producer, who is only 18, is inspired by the Portuguese speaking heritage of her Cape Verdean and Guinea Bissauan parents. Prior to her solo career, Nidia Minaj was part of Kaninas Squad, an all-girl teenage Kuduro group. She is still now one of the rare females to play and produce this kind of music! Even if she is now living in France, she remains particularly attached to Lisbon’s dance scene, notably thanks to her collaboration with the label Príncipe Discos.

Besides being a relevant producer of the current electro scene, Nidia Minaj is a remarkable DJ!
