[su_dropcap style=”simple”]L[/su_dropcap]isten to “Blame Me”, one of the seven tracks on Tidus’s new EP “Soon Youll Understand.” The song is full of power and spirit and comes with a simple beat which elegantly supplements his emotive vocals. Vocals which, by the way, sometimes remind Young Thug‘s singular flow, and seem to rise in exasperation at the end of every line. It adds this gripping sense of desperation and sense of pure emotion. This is something which he does not reveal in his other tracks and it definitely adds something else, an edgy element that helps “Blame Me” stand out.

Tidus, based in New York, is also an artist, producer and filmmaker (his video for “Apocalypse” was named Vimeo‘s Staff Pick). “Blame Me” is perhaps the most melodic and smooth track on the EP as some of the others dive into other genres like grime. I personally prefer the upbeat beat of “Blame Me” and the artist’s more powerful and expressive vocals. However, the seven tracks on his EP do show off different aspects to his music and most probably appeal to a wider audience.
