How To Dress Well‘s new album “The Anteroom” is out October 19 on Domino.

Singer-songwriter and producer Tom Krell, better known as How To Dress Well, has unveiled a brand new video and track a few days ahead the release of his new album. The electronic ballad “Body Fat” comes with a video that the artist co-directed with Justin Daashuur Hopkins, just like for the first offering “Nonkilling 6 | Hunger“. About the track, he detailed on Twitter:

[su_quote]Have u ever thought that maybe everything keeps going wrong in your life & in the world bc of centuries of unmetabolized suffering & trauma lingering in your flesh ? Ever thought “hey my heart is broken because Im the palpitation of a massive misery coextensive with life itself?”… That’s what body fat is about.[/su_quote]

How To Dress Well‘s fifth album “The Anteroom” is due out October 19 on Domino. How To Dress Well‘s mastermind

How To Dress Well‘s fifth album “The Anteroom” is due out October 19 on Domino.

How To Dress Well‘s mastermind Tom Krell has announced the release of his new album with a new track. The propulsive single, titled “Nonkilling 6 | Hunger.”, comes with an epileptic visual collaboration between the artist and Justin Daashuur Hopkins.

“The Anteroom” follows up on his 2016’s project “Care”. It is co-produced by Joel Ford and is set to be “a passage into a void of pain in which no human scream can be heard, that will decompose your body in an instant” according to the artist who has also studied philosophy. About this mysterious passage, Krell also added that “It can be a great place that allows us to connect to the unknown safely. Or it can be the actual worst.” Everything remains quite cryptic at the moment but we should understand a bit more in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, check his new video as well as his album trackslisting and his upcoming gigs below.

[su_dropcap style=”simple”]L[/su_dropcap]o-fi and experimental R&B artist Tom Krell aka How to Dress Well recently teased a new LP: “Care”. This fourth opus will be the follow-up to 2014’s “What Is This Heart?” and is planned to be released on September 23 via Weird World and Domino. Going with this announcement, the Chicago-born artist also shared a Ben Tricklebank-directed ode-to-love video for the breakup single “Lost Youth / Lost You”. A beautiful slightly-NSFW version of the video is also available.

How To Dress Well is an amazing and sincere artist that we are following since his debut LP “Love Remains” back in 2010. The music of the artist is always so authentic and generous and we highly recommend you to attend one of his concerts, especially if he plays in a small venue. On “Lost youth / Lost You”, the artist embraces pop music and deliver a heady tune that notably features a remarkable guitar solo. The album “Care” will feature co-production from Dre Skull, CFCF, and Kara-Lis Coverdale. But the most famous producer on this new project is obviously 3-times grammy awarded Jack Antonoff, who has worked with Fun., Bleachers, and Steel Train. He also co-wrote and co-produced three songs on Taylor Swift‘s last album “1989”. That could explain this pop move.

[su_youtube_advanced url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WalNwPKTnnE”]

Concerning the Ben Tricklebank-directed video, it features naked people, including the singer, dancing in a purple room on a choreography signed by Jos McKain. The rendition is kaleidoscopic, sensual and beautiful. The bodies are merging one with each other and the video is simply an ode to Love.

With the NSFW video of “Lost Youth / Lost you” by How To Dress Well, we’re even more in love with the artist!
