Sam Breathwick, also known as Vasser, is only 20 but he has already impressed us several times and the most recent example lies in his single “Valerians“. The artist has now released a 3-track EP which notably features his new song “Blind Faith Talking”. It’s a nocturnal mix of bass and caressing layers which are, once again, elevated by his sensitive vocals.

About this new single, the artist detailed:

[su_quote]’Blind Faith’ is about grief over relationship troubles, and the different attitudes you can have simultaneously (compassion and regret, hostility and aggression). The production and writing is supposed to reflect those harder and softer sides of me, too, and the fact that your responses are so inconsistent largely because of your own insecurity. [/su_quote]

A lot of artists from the boiling underground scene are unfortunately flying under our radar. The first single of Okzharp & Manthe Ribane’s forthcoming album ‘closer Apart’ (due July 6th) is called “Dun” and is an absolute banger! “The duo of South African born, London based producer Okzharp and musician, dancer and style icon Manthe Ribane drop this single as a ear catching taste of whats to come.” – Hyperdub Records (Yup Hyperdub, which makes me longing even more for this album)

With Moir, we literally dive in an emotional ballad called “You Have Soul” and oh yes, we do have soul! Honest pop songs don’t come easy, but Summer Heart goes straight for it and tells us “I Got This Thing For You.” One thing GEMS can’t hide is their beautiful new single “Crippled Inside.”

German islander Ruuth is a fast rising newcomer with her refreshing sound and vocals on debut track “All About.”

The most colorful debut in this playlist must be Lillian Frances, who serves her experimental synth pop with Californian summer flair on “Better, Worse.” Just as sunny, Amber-Simone pushes us to shake it off on “Trashed My Heart” and we get turned upside down until the “small hours” with the delicate otta‘s song.

Von Sell already knew how to please us before with his music, but on his latest release “Digital Sleep,” he proves how his angelic, falsetto vocals lift his songs even higher into stardom. Lastly, Refs captivate with a song for all those who have ever tried to drink, smoke, or fuck away the inevitable.

At age 19 only, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Vasser has already gained attention of major publications with the release of his debut EP “A Telling End” last year. Named after the sleeping tablets, his new single “Valerians” explores the death of a relationship and its consequences. Blending organic textures and electronic elements, the track is a smart and unpinnable collage which both reminds us of David Bowie‘s “Ashes to Ashes” for its melody and Floating Points for its vivid soundscapes. In any case, it sounds so promising and exciting.
