Indi shares empowering single “Woman” ahead of the release of debut album

New Zealand artist Indi shares her experiences in new track “Woman” where organic and electronic sounds meet.

Mixing heavy brass sounds with immersive electronic synths, the sweet vocals by the artist come as a description of her womanhood: in between beauty and suffering. In a world where we tend to reduce women to their gender and not to fully celebrate them, she doesn’t hesitate on reminding with meaningful lyrics the delicate task of being what you are. About the track, Indi stated:

[su_quote]It reflects on the female reproductive system, specifically the uterus, as a source of both pain and life. It is an abrasive power anthem for the initially rejected womb that has been reclaimed.[/su_quote]

Diana Gordon shared empowering new video for her track “Woman”

Diana Gordon shared her first video for her empowering track “Woman” that was debuted on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Directed by Cameron McCool, you can follow the artist with pregnant women on the black and white video.

After writing for Beyoncé‘s “Lemonade” the famous “Becky with the good hair” phrase, she changed her stage name from Wynter Gordon to Diana Gordon. As a particular feminist anthem, the track follows the path of what it’s like to exist in the world as a woman. About the video, the artist said:

We shot this video on a cold day in November. 5 pregnant women on the cusp of giving birth and hungry, everyone having to pee at the same time. It was also one of the calmest days I’ve ever experienced. We all wanted to capture the incredible beauty of this ancient magic called ‘creation of life.’ I also wanted to give them classic beautiful images to show their children when they were older.

This song, that is rock & roll reincarnated, that celebrates your mother, my mother, your sister, and my sister is just my way to stand up for the woman next to me and all those unseen. We need each other and the world really needs us right now.”

Rosie Lowe – Woman

Rosie Lowe is a proud feminist and tells it with “Woman”. The song encourages women to be themselves with their strengths and weaknesses.
We’re used with Rosie to have appealing videos and she did not fail once again. “Woman” is simple but utterly graceful and expresses many sides of the beauty of the woman.

“Woman” is taken from Rosie Lowe‘s upcoming debut album “Control” out on the 19th of February. We also hope that her single “Worry Bout Us” will also be included in the album.

This album is going to be called “Control” and is due to be released on February 19. Here is her statement about it and the artwork below :

“Woman” follows the same pattern as we could already noticed in her previous work : the incredibly soulful voice of Rosie alongside a nice R&B production by Lowe herself with Dave Okumu. We are excited to see her live very soon since she has announced some new dates in Europe this winter.
